Isolation of T Cells from the Skin

T cells can be found in skin under steady-state conditions as well as in inflammatory processes. T cells in skin play an important role in immune homeostasis as well as control of infectious, inflammatory diseases or tumors. In addition, several important and frequent skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, autoimmune disease, and contact allergy are initiated by T cells. In skin diseases, the majority of antigen-specific T cells can be found in the tissue, not the peripheral blood. Comparison of Components Released by Fermented or Active Dried Yeasts after Aging on Lees in a Model Wine

Comparison of different components released during autolysis with fermented or active dried yeast, which has never been reported previously, is related in this paper. Three autolysates were elaborated with Saccharomyces cerevisiae in a model wine (pH 3.5) at 30 or 18 degrees C. Composition of the autolysate appears to depend on both the growth medium and the physiological state of the yeast. The autolysate obtained from active dried yeast presents a higher total nitrogen concentration (a factor of 1.5-1.9 for the fermented yeast autolysate), a greater proportion of free amino acids (42 vs 16-25%), the lowest proportion of oligopeptides (25 vs 31-37%) and polypeptides (27 vs 45-34%), and an …

Involvement of PAR-4 in Cannabinoid-Dependent Sensitization of Osteosarcoma Cells to TRAIL-Induced Apoptosis

The synthetic cannabinoid WIN 55,212-2 is a potent cannabinoid receptor agonist with anticancer potential. Experiments were performed to determine the effects of WIN on proliferation, cell cycle distribution, and programmed cell death in human osteosarcoma MG63 and Saos-2 cells. Results show that WIN induced G2/M cell cycle arrest, which was associated with the induction of the main markers of ER stress (GRP78, CHOP and TRB3). Purpose Exercise and aging may modulate muscle protein homeostasis and autophagy, but few studies examine highly-trained middle-aged or older individuals. This study elucidated the effects of a new long-term training stimulus on markers of muscle autophagy and unfolded protein response (UPR) and on sprint running performance in masters sprinters. Geosynchronous satellite can measure any area with high temporal repetitivity within its coverage region because of its relative static location compared to Earth. Considering the temporal repetitivity, it can satisfy requirements for coastal zone monitoring but also has to face the influence of the varying solar angle and sensor angle (zenith and azimuth). BAG3, a multifunctional HSP70 co-chaperone and anti-apoptotic protein that interacts with the ATPase domain of HSP70 through its C-terminal BAG domain plays a key physiological role in cellular proteostasis. The HSP70/BAG3 complex determines the levels of a large number of selective client proteins by regulating their turnover via the two major protein degradation pathways, i.e. proteasomal degradation and macroautophagy.
