Managing Relations: a study of positioning strategies in British international discourse

This work deals with corpus-assisted research into speaker ideological positioning in the language of diplomacy. It concentrates on the resources used by the foreign minister Margaret Beckett to construe the speaker “orientation” (Lemke 1992) through the analysis of the main participant in the discourse that is international community and the subject matter being debated namely terrorism. The findings have shown assertiveness and determination from the speaker by the use of contractive mechanisms. Resumen basado en el de la publicación Resumen en inglés La utilidad limitada del principio de Le Chatelier y su formulación vaga y ambigua pueden ser algunas de las fuentes de conceptos erróneos en el equilibrio químico. Para diagnosticar conceptos erróneos, se administró una prueba escrita a 170 estudiantes universitarios de primer año. Medical errors are one of the leading causes of death and injury in radiation therapy administration as reported in the literature. This point out an overall deficiency in management allowing patient treatment in the absence of suitable quality assurance processes. Clinical records of major accidental exposure events in radiotherapy show that there is a combination of factors contributing to the accident such as deficient staff training, lack of independent checks, lack of quality control procedures, and absence of overall supervision. Iskua seuranneina vuosikymmeninä itsemurhaiskut ovat levinneet lukuisten eri terroristijärjestöjen käyttöön useille eri maantieteellisille alueille. This paper proposes a processing chain for the derivation of global Leaf Area Index (LAI), Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR), Fraction Vegetation Cover (FVC), and Canopy water content (CWC) maps from 15-years of MODIS data exploiting the capabilities of the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud platform.
