Hepatocyte transplantation, a step forward?

Hepatocyte transplantation emerged a few decades ago as a possible strategy to overcome some of the limitations of liver transplantation, among them the availability of organ donors and the functional quality of grafts. Nowadays, allogenic cell transplantation is still to be confirmed as a viable therapeutic option for patients with hereditary metabolic liver diseases. Although we have now overseen 5 decades of basic and animal research in the field, the number of successfully treated patients remains low. Limitations in cell engraftment and selective proliferation of transplanted cells remain a constraint to the generalized use of this therapeutic approach.
Sir Thomas More's Utopia : An overlooked economic classic

Sir Thomas More's Utopia, published in 1516, is a classic work of how to organise a society based on common property. With a unique mix of common property, institutions and sound economic insights, we argue that More built a framework for a society that could be viable in the long run. While the conditions that make Utopia work are quite restrictive, it does provide a sketch of a society where common property may not stifle long‐term development, but is associated with productive workers and people content with their lives.

Quinto Orazio Flacco è fra i più tradotti auctores latini nelle culture letterarie d’Europa, soprattutto nei secoli XVI, XVII, XVIII. La ricostruzione repertoriale e critica delle traduzioni che hanno avuto per oggetto il suo corpus si offre, quindi, come documento particolarmente significativo della fortuna traduttoria di un mito letterario, in quanto attesta il rapporto di imitatio/aemulatio che numerosi autori hanno stabilito con il modello nel momento in cui hanno deciso di assimilarlo, attraverso le traduzioni, alle lingue e alle culture nazionali cui essi appartengono.

This phenomenon has also affected Sicilian dairy products, in particular protected designation of origin (PDO) “Vastedda della valle del Belìce” (VdB), a cheese traditionally available only during the summer season, but requested year round. The ongoing internationalization of audiovisual media increases the need for new ways of overcoming linguistic barriers. In Germany, where the common technique has always been dubbing, subtitles are however becoming more and more popular. The present article will deal with the application possibilities of subtitles in audiovisual translation with reference to humoristic elements.
