Molecular structures inT=1states of10B
2011
Multi-center (molecular) structures can play an important role in light nuclei. The highly deformed rotational band in 10Be with band head at 6.179 MeV has been observed recently and suggested to have an exotic alpha:2n:alpha configuration. A search for states with alpha:pn:alpha two-center molecular configurations in 10B that are analogous to the states with alpha:2n:alpha structure in 10Be has been performed. The T=1 isobaric analog states in 10B were studied in the excitation energy range of E=8.7-12.1 MeV using the reaction 1H(9Be,alpha)6Li*(T=1, 0+, 3.56 MeV). An R-matrix analysis was used to extract parameters for the states observed in the (p,alpha) excitation function. Five T=1 stat…
A new resonance in thee-H2-scattering
1969
A short-lived compound state of the systeme-H2 in the energy region from 13.5 to 15 eV has been investigated. It desintegrates preferably into theC 1 π u v=0, 1, 2, 3,... vibrational states of H2. Excitation functions and angular dependences of these states have been measured. The H2 vibrational levels are situated at 13.63, 13.93, 14.20, 14.70, 14.92,... eV. The shape of the potential energy curve and the internuclear distance of the compound state should be very similar to that of theC 1 π u resp.D 1 π u state ofH 2.
Crossing the dripline to11Nusing elastic resonance scattering
2000
The level structure of the unbound nucleus N-11 has been studied by C-10+p elastic resonance scattering in inverse geometry with the LISE3 spectrometer at GANIL, using a C-10 beam with an energy of 9.0 MeV/ nucleon. An additional measurement was done at the A1200 spectrometer at MSU. The excitation function above the C-10+p threshold has been determined up to 5 MeV. A potential-model analysis revealed three resonance states at energies 1.27(-0.05)(+0.18) MeV (Gamma = 1.44 +/- 0.2 MeV), 2.01(-0.05)(+0.15) MeV (Gamma = 0.84 +/- 0.2 MeV), and 3.75 +/- 0.05 MeV (Gamma = 0.60 +/- 0.05 MeV) with the spin-parity assignments I-pi=1/2+,1/2,-,5/2+, respectively. Hence, N-11 is shown to have a ground …
Determination of theη′-Proton Scattering Length in Free Space
2014
Taking advantage of both the high mass resolution of the COSY-11 detector and the high energy resolution of the low-emittance proton beam of the cooler synchrotron COSY, we determine the excitation function for the $pp\ensuremath{\rightarrow}pp{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ reaction close to threshold. Combining these data with previous results, we extract the scattering length for the ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$-proton potential in free space to be $\mathrm{Re}({a}_{p{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}})=0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.43\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{fm}$ and $\mathrm{Im}({a}_{p{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}})={0.37}_{\ensuremath{-}0.16}^{+0.40}\text{ }\t…
Multinucleon transfer reactions and proton transfer channels
2019
Transfer reactions have always been of great importance for nuclear structure and reaction mechanism studies. So far, in multinucleon transfer studies, proton pickup channels have been completely identified in atomic and mass numbers at energies close to the Coulomb barrier only in few cases. We measured the multinucleon transfer reactions in the 40Ar+208Pb system near the Coulomb barrier, by employing the PRISMA magnetic spectrometer. By using the most neutron-rich stable 40Ar beam we could populate, besidesneutron pickup and proton stripping channels, also neutron stripping and proton pickup channels. Comparison ofcross sections between different systems with the 208Pb target and with pro…

Colloidal Nanoplatelet/Conducting Polymer Hybrids: Excitonic And Material Properties
2016
WOS:000370678700053 Here we present the first account of conductive polymer/colloidal nanoplatelet hybrids. For this, we developed DEH-PPV-based polymers with two different anchor groups (sulfide and amine) acting as surfactants for CdSe nanoplatelets, which are atomically flat semiconductor nanocrystals. Hybridization of the polymers with the nanoplatelets in the solution phase was observed to cause strong photoluminescence quenching in both materials. Through steady-state photoluminescence and excitation spectrum measurements, photoluminescence quenching was shown to result from dominant exciton dissociation through charge transfer at the polymer/nanoplatelet interfaces that possess a sta…
Transient and near‐edge absorption in YVO 4 crystals
2007
The process of near-edge absorption annealing in air was studied up to 1500C in YVO4. In this annealing process, two stages with activation energies of 0.16 eV and 0.38 eV were obtained. (Should combine to make this one paragraph)In addition to the annealing study, the transient absorption induced by pulsed electron beam excitation (270 keV, 8 ns) was completed on a set of YVO4 samples with different near-edge absorption levels in the spectral region 3.2-3.5 eV. The spectral range from ∼1.25 eV up to 3.0 eV is covered by strong transient absorption. Transient absorption spectra show at least three broad overlapping bands (∼1.3 eV, ∼2.0 eV and ∼3.0 eV). The 3 eV peak position is close to the…
Acoustic Scene Classification with Squeeze-Excitation Residual Networks
2020
Acoustic scene classification (ASC) is a problem related to the field of machine listening whose objective is to classify/tag an audio clip in a predefined label describing a scene location (e. g. park, airport, etc.). Many state-of-the-art solutions to ASC incorporate data augmentation techniques and model ensembles. However, considerable improvements can also be achieved only by modifying the architecture of convolutional neural networks (CNNs). In this work we propose two novel squeeze-excitation blocks to improve the accuracy of a CNN-based ASC framework based on residual learning. The main idea of squeeze-excitation blocks is to learn spatial and channel-wise feature maps independently…
Faraday patterns in bose-Einstein condensates.
2002
Temporal periodic modulation of the interatomic s-wave scattering length in Bose-Einstein condensates is shown to excite subharmonic patterns of atom density through a parametric resonance. The dominating wavelength of the spatial structures is shown to be primarily selected by the excitation frequency but also affected by the depth of the spatial modulation via a nonlinear resonance. These phenomena represent macroscopic quantum analogues of the Faraday waves excited in vertically shaken liquids.
