Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare two types of posterior-stabilized (PS) mobile-bearing (MB) total knee arthroplasties (TKAs). The hypothesis was that no major differences were going to be found among the two TKA designs. Bilateral sloping high frequency hearing loss of 20–90 dB was found in six out of ten patients with infantile or adolescent onset FSHD. In all cases the basic defect could be traced to the cochlea. The outer hair cells of the basal turn are predominantly affected. In 20 patients with various other forms of muscular dystrophy or neuromuscular disorders with an FSH distribution, no sensorineural hearing loss was found. Myopathology of FSHD patients extended from mild to severe, often showing inflammatory infiltrates and type I fibre atrophy, without unequivocal differences between the two groups with and without hearing loss. The effect of cement fixation on initial micromotion of the femoral component in condylar knee replacement

Four fresh, cadaveric specimens were fitted with total knee replacements and mounted on a knee joint loading and measuring rig. Femoral component micromotion in the sagittal plane was measured with a transducer during flexion and extension of the specimen. Various condylar designs were used without and with cement. Movement followed a characteristic curve pattern and was less with cement fixation particularly for bone of low trabecular strength as determined by bone sample tests for stiffness. Cement fixation appears to be superior to cementless fixation.

Zbiorowiska z klasy Utricularietea intermedio-minoris Den Hartog et Segal 1964 em. Pietsch 1965 należą do wyspecjalizowanych pod względem ekologicznym fitocenoz, występujących w wodach oligotroficznych, mezotroficznych oraz dystroficznych na podłożu torfowym. W Polsce należą do grupy zbiorowisk bardzo słabo zbadanych. Analizējot dažādu pētnieku atziņas par vecāku stresu un priekšstatiem par bērnu audzināšanas pieejām, tika konstatēti faktori, kas ir saistīti ar vecāku stresu. Empīriskie pierādījumi atspoguļo saikni starp partneru izraisītu stresu un disfunkcionālu vecāku lomas izpildi.
