Evolution of fluctuations in the initial state of heavy-ion collisions from RHIC to LHC
2019
Fluctuations in the initial state of heavy-ion collisions are larger at RHIC energy than at LHC energy. This fact can be inferred from recent measurements of the fluctuations of the particle multiplicities and of elliptic flow performed at the two different energies. We show that an analytical description of the initial energy-density field and its fluctuations motivated by the color glass condensate (CGC) effective theory predicts and quantitatively captures the measured energy evolution of these observables. The crucial feature is that fluctuations in the CGC scale like the inverse of the saturation scale of the nuclei.

This dissertation provides a theoretical effective description of a special class of hadronic meson states with charm and bottom quark content and their associated phenomenology. The considered states are difficult to be accommodated in CQMs and are candidates to be interpreted as meson molecules. This relies on the assumption that their main properties can be described by means of an effective low energy interaction of two more fundamental mesons. In historical centres the search for architectural and plant design solutions for the achievement of higher energy and environmental performances of buildings has to reconcile the preservation of the peculiarities of the building stock on the one hand and the economic efficiency of the interventions on the other one. The cost-effectiveness principle, which is adopted by European policies for the improvement of energy performances of the building stock, may be satisfied through the use of specific macro and micro-economic valuation models.

The aim of this study was to investigate how regular singing lessons and deliberate practice impact future teachers’ voice quality and their expression in speech and singing. Abstract The present paper highlights, from a theoretical perspective, the main challenges which aim work performance, inside meta- analytical research studies in organizations, focusing, especially, on factors and organizational concepts, directly related to performance and their relations within. Results show that, in most cases, human resources oriented management resides in an increase of performance at work. In this manner, team effectiveness, group size and proactive behavior determine and influence the levels of work performance, from a positive perspective, whilst turnover is widely associated with a negative view.

To establish Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) for non-resectable liver metastases and for in vitro experiments at the TRIGA Mark II reactor at the University of Mainz, Germany, it is necessary to have a reliable dose monitoring system. The in vitro experiments are used to determine the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of liver and cancer cells in our mixed neutron and gamma fi eld.
