Osimertinib in first-line treatment of advanced EGFR-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer: a cost–effectiveness analysis
2019
Aim: Osimertinib improves progression-free survival in first-line EGFR mutation–positive non-small-cell lung cancer. Materials & methods: A Markov cohort model including costs, utilities and disutilities, was conducted to estimate quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) and incremental cost–effectiveness ratio when treating with osimertinib versus standard first-line tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Results: Osimertinib presented higher QALYs (0.61) compared with standard EGFR–TKIs (0.42). Osimertinib costs were €83,258.99, in comparison with €29,209.45 for the standard EGFR–TKIs. An incremental cost–effectiveness ratio of €273,895.36/QALY was obtained for osimertinib. Conclusion: Osimerti…
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy as a potential therapeutic tool for breast cancer related lymphedema: a narrative review of in vitro, animal and cl…
2021
Background: The treatment of breast cancer related lymphedema (BCRL) focuses on the alleviation symptoms. One of the innovative, non-invasive therapies used for this condition is extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT). Aim of the study: To review the available literature and evaluate the effectiveness of ESWT in the treatment of secondary lymphedema (in vitro works, animal experiments) and lymphedema associated with the treatment of breast cancer. Material and methods: The scientific literature review was conducted from October to December 2020. The review was carried out by searching scientifically recognized medical databases, including PubMed, MEDLINE and PEDro. Date restrictions were …
Comparative study of the determinants of the effectiveness of educational policies of inclusion in France and Cameroon from the point of view of teac…
2014
Considering the fact that inclusive education is an international recommendation (UNESCO, 2008; 2006; 2000; 1994); Framework for Action on Education for All, (2000); Millennium Development Goals (2000), Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006)) , educational policies, both in the countries of the North and those in the South , more or less clearly take into account the educational needs of certain groups including children with disabilities. Considering also that teachers appear as key role players in the success of inclusive education related to children with disabilities (Asrat Dagnew, 2013), (Ngo Mélha, 2013; 2011), ( Kabano , 2001); Bothma M. & al.,2000) , it is judi…
Choosing the Right Cause: The Moderating Role of Meta-Cognitions in Cause-Related Marketing Effectiveness
2015
In recent years, consumers’ expectations in terms of corporate obligations have changed, such that the ethical and philanthropic dimensions of Carroll’s (1979) corporate social responsibility (CSR) pyramid have evolved from desired to presupposed responsibilities. Beyond the consequentially increasing prevalence of CSR activities, considerable attention has been given to cause-related marketing (CRM) in marketing research and practice (Bigne Alcaniz, Chumpitaz Caceres, and Curras Perez, 2010). CRM is defined as a “process of formulating and implementing marketing activities that are characterized by an offer from the firm to contribute a specified amount to a designated cause when customers…
Options pour une allocation coût-efficace des ressources
2006
Investigating the impacts of team type and design on virtual team processes
2017
While much is known about virtual team processes and outcomes, the literature relies on a variety of team configurations and types (including student versus organizational samples, short-term versus long-term teams, functional versus project-based teams, and teams with various task types) yet has not systematically examined how these differences impact team processes. This is important because much of the virtual teams research has been based on student samples, which are easier to access and control, with the implicit assumption that the findings from student samples will generalize to organizational virtual teams. This manuscript reviews the last 15 years of research on virtual teams and …
High involvement work practices and firm performance
2009
During the past two decades the chain of three links organizational strategy – human resources practices – organizational performance has been deeply analysed. However, the mediator role of organizational structure in the first link of this chain remains relatively uninvestigated. In this article we analyse a model of relationships among organizational strategy, organizational structure, human resources practices, and organizational performance. Through a structural equation methodology applied to a sample of 183 Spanish companies, we will try to confirm that organizations with differentiation strategies are more likely to implement high involvement work practices. As a novelty we will intr…
Probabilistic Fuzzy Approach to Evaluation of Logistics Service Effectiveness
2014
Received: 9 September 2014 Abstract Accepted: 11 October 2014 Logistics service providers offer a whole or partial logistics business service over a certain time period. Between such companies, the effectiveness of specific logistics services can vary. Logistics service providers seek the effective performance of logistics service. The purpose of this paper is to present a new approach for the evaluation of logistics service effectiveness, along with a specific computer system implementing the proposed approach – a sophisticated inference system, an extension of the Mamdani probabilistic fuzzy system. The paper presents specific knowledge concerning the relationships between effectiveness i…
The combined use of quality management programs and work teams

Work engagement-team performance relationship : shared job crafting as a moderator
2016
The aims of this study were twofold: first, to investigate whether both individual and team work engagement are associated with team members' perceived team performance, and, second, to explore whether shared job crafting within teams moderates the relationship between work engagement and team members' perceived team performance. Data were collected from 1,074 Finnish educational sector employees working in 102 teams. Multilevel analysis revealed that both individual and team work engagement were associated with high levels of perceived team performance. The association between work engagement (both individual and team) and perceived team performance, however, varied across teams. The varia…
