El poeta Teodor Llorente fou unànimement reconegut en vida com un dels més excel·lents traductors castellans dels principals poetes romàntics europeus del segle XIX. En aquest sentit, cal destacar que la seua tasca traductora rebé les lloances d’autors com ara Joan Maragall i Joan Alcover. Книга «За счастьем в Россию» написана по архивным материалам, выявленным в результате разысканий автора и относящимся к истории рода Эглескалн, представители которого переселились с другими крестьянами Курляндской губернии в 1884 году под Новгород на выкупленные ими земли и жили там в латышской колонии. Описывается жизнь и быт латышей-колонистов в XIX–XX веках. На основе собранных документов и устных воспоминаний потомков пролит свет на вопросы о судьбах репрессированных в 1930-е годы колонистов и их родных, оказавшихся волею обстоятельств оторванными от своей исторической Родины.
Effect of hydrogen on the ethylene polymerization process over Ziegler-Natta catalysts supported on MgCl2(THF)2. II. Kinetic studies

This article reports on a study of the effects of hydrogen on the activity of vanadium and titanium catalysts supported on MgCl 2 (THF) 2 in ethylene polymerization. It was found that hydrogen did not change the stable nature of the active sites and the polydispersity index of the polyethylene obtained. The propagation rate, expressed as k p , was found to be independent of the presence and concentration of hydrogen, indicating that this reacting agent does not modify the reactivity of the active sites. However, the presence of hydrogen in the polymerization medium is responsible for partial deactivation of the active sites just before polymerization is initiated.

A series of novel titanium(IV) complexes bearing tetradentate [ONNO] salan type ligands: [Ti{2,2′-(OC6H3-5-t-Bu)2-NHRNH}Cl2] (Lig1TiCl2: R = C2H4; Lig2TiCl2: R = C4H8; Lig3TiCl2: R = C6H12) and [Ti{2,2′-(OC6H2-3,5-di-t-Bu)2-NHC6H12NH}Cl2] (Lig4TiCl2) were synthesized and used in the (co)polymerization of olefins. Vanadium and zirconium complexes: [M{2,2′-(OC6H3-3,5-di-t-Bu)2-NHC6H12NH}Cl2] (Lig4VCl2: M = V; Lig4ZrCl2: M = Zr) were also synthesized for comparative investigations. The roles for a Lewis base and MgCl2 in third-generation Ziegler-Natta catalysts

Activity of a titanium catalyst supported on a bimetallic magnesium-aluminium system, involving a Lewis base [MgCl2(THF) 2 /Al(C 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl], was studied in ethylene polymerization, and the effect of the catalyst composition on the properties of the final polymer produced was investigated. Analysis and discussion of the findings covering also some part of the kinetic study, resulted in defining the roles for MgCl 2 and a Lewis base in the third-generation Ziegler-Natta catalysts. Abstract Food-borne trematodiases are among the most neglected tropical diseases, not only in terms of research funding, but also in the public media. The Trematoda class contains several species identified as the causal agents of these diseases whose biological cycle, geographical distribution and epidemiology have been well characterised. La búsqueda de una respuesta europea al problema planteado por los brotes epidémicos de poliomielitis en las décadas centrales del siglo XX, desembocó en la creación de un organismo nuevo, la Asociación Europea contra la Poliomielitis en 1951. Los mecanismos de funcionamiento interno y las conexiones internacionales de dicha Asociación fueron subsidiarios de un determinado contexto socio-político que propiciaba este tipo de consorcios. Como muestra este trabajo, su labor en los dieciocho años de existencia fue decisiva para la articulación y el éxito alcanzado por las políticas sanitarias nacionales de inmunización masiva frente a la enfermedad.
