“KKona where’s your sense of patriotism?” : Positioning Nationality in the Spectatorship of Competitive Overwatch Play

AbstractThis chapter analyzes the discursive construction of nationality and ethnicity in the context of the Overwatch World Cup 2019 and especially among the discussions of the world cup’s spectators on the live-streaming platform Twitch. Drawing on the positioning theory and the concept of banal nationalism, our study demonstrates how esports fans are active negotiators and co-creators of the esports discourse. The analysis illustrates what kind of role nationality and ethnicity take in this environment, in other words what they come to mean for those participating in the discourses defining them.

Non-linear analysis of a modified QPSK Costas loop

A Costas loop is one of the classical phase-locked loop based circuits, which demodulates data and recovers carrier from the input signal. The Costas loop is essentially a nonlinear control system and its nonlinear analysis is a challenging task. In this article for a modified QPSK Costas loop we analyze the hold-in, pull-in and lock-in ranges. New procedure for estimation of the lock-in range is considered and compared with previously known approach. peerReviewed
Application of time-dependent many-body perturbation theory to excitation spectra of selected finite model systems

In this thesis, an approximate method introduced to solve time-dependent many-body problems known as time-dependent many-body perturbation theory is studied. Many-body perturbation theory for interacting electrons and phonons is reviewed. In particular, the electron propagator G and an unconventional two-component phonon propagator, which satisfy coupled integral Dyson equations, are introduced. In practice, the associated integral kernels known as the electron Σ and phonon self-energies need to be approximated. Rosnąca rola nowych technologii spowodowała zmiany w sposobie przeprowadzania egzaminu zawodowego. Jedną z nich jest możliwość przeprowadzania egzaminu teoretycznego w wersji elektronicznej. W opracowaniu przedstawione zostały procedury związane z tą formą zewnętrznego oceniania uczestników kształcenia zawodowego. Zamieszczone zostały również dane statystyczne obrazujące odsetek szkół korzystających z tego rozwiązania.

Radioluminescence Response of Ce-, Cu-, and Gd-Doped Silica Glasses for Dosimetry of Pulsed Electron Beams

Radiation-induced emission of doped sol-gel silica glass samples was investigated under a pulsed 20-MeV electron beam. The studied samples were drawn rods doped with cerium, copper, or gadolinium ions, which were connected to multimode pure-silica core fibers to transport the induced luminescence from the irradiation area to a signal readout system. The luminescence pulses in the samples induced by the electron bunches were studied as a function of deposited dose per electron bunch. All the investigated samples were found to have a linear response in terms of luminescence as a function of electron bunch sizes between 10−5 Gy/bunch and 1.5×10−2 Gy/bunch. Aiming strategy affects performance-related factors in biathlon standing shooting

This study focused on investigating differences in shooting performance and performance related factors between two different aiming strategies (HOLD, low radial velocity during the approach 0.4‐0.2 seconds before triggering, and TIMING, high radial velocity) in biathlon standing shooting. 23 biathletes fired 8x5 standing shots at rest (REST) and 2x5 shots during a race simulation (RACE). Shooting performance (hit point distance from the center of the target), aiming point trajectory and postural balance were measured from each shot. Tässä tutkielmassa on tutkittu kahden erilaisen itsejärjestyvän DNA-rakenteen sähkönjohtavuutta nanomittakaavassa. Ensimmäinen rakenteista on suorakaiteenmuotoinen kaksiulotteinen DNA-levy kooltaan noin 70×100 nm2 toisen ollessa selvästi kapeampi, noin 10×60 nm2. Suurin ero rakenteiden välillä on valmistusmenetelmä: isompi rakenne on valmistettu origamitekniikalla ja pienempi niin sanottua tiilimenetelmää käyttäen.
