ABSTRACT Objective: To determine the influence of nurse education and training on attitudes towards communication, emotional intelligence, and empathy. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted using three separate instruments to measure attitudes towards communication, empathy, and emotional intelligence, and two questions to determine the academic qualifications of the study participants. The relations between social anxiety and social intelligence: A latent variable analysis

Social anxiety has been associated with biases in cognitive processing and deficits in social performances. Yet, it remains unclear if these variations may be partly attributable to deficits in fundamental social abilities: for example, social intelligence (SI). Using the Magdeburg Test of Social Intelligence (MTSI) as an objective and performance based SI measure, we examined the relationship between social anxiety and SI in a general population sample (N=110) using Structural Equation Modeling. Careless responses and construct validity of Wong-Law Emotional Intelligence Scale.

Careless response in the investigation of emotional intelligence has not been explicitly addressed. In a sample of 180 Spanish adults responding to the Wong-Law Emotional Intelligence Scale, a small prevalence (7.2%) was detected. The impact was small on the psychometric parameters, but they were less inflated, more realistic, and precise.

Trait Empathy associated with Agreeableness and rhythmic entrainment in a spontaneous movement to music task: Preliminary exploratory investigations

The simulation theory of empathy suggests that we use motor processing to empathise, through modelling the actions of others. Similarly, research into embodied music cognition posits that music, particularly musical rhythm, is perceived as a motor stimulus. In both cases, the human Mirror Neuron System (MNS) is put forward as a potential underlying mechanism. If this is the case, some overlap may exist between the ability to empathise with others, and the ability to perceive rhythm in music. Emocionālā intelekta saistība ar akadēmiskajiem sasniegumiem vidusskolēniem 17-19 gadu vecumā.

Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādām emocionālā intelekta spējām, kompetencēm pastāv sakarība ar akadēmiskajiem sasniegumiem, kā arī apskatīt šo saistību dzimumatšķirības kontekstā. Pētījuma ietvaros tika aptaujāti 50 respondenti – 25 meitenes un 25 puiši, vecumā no 17 līdz 19 gadiem 11. un 12 klases skolēni. Emocionālā intelekta spējas tika mērītas ar R. Bar-On Emocionālā intelekta aptauju (The Bar- On, Emotional Quotient Inventory, EQ – i, Bar-On, 1999), kas sastāv no 133 apgalvojumiem, ko novērtē Likerta skalā.
