La “religione mediterranea”. Un problema storico-religioso tra storia e ideologia

1999

i modelli interpretativi utilizzati dagli studiosi talvolta tendono a ipostatizzarsi, creando "realtà" storiche inesistenti.

The Diccionario Inglés-Español de Contabilidad: Traducción and the Diccionario Inglés-Español de Contabilidad: Traducción de Frases y Expresiones: Tw…

2014

This paper focuses on the role dictionaries play in a translation situation. This role is analysed in terms of the tenets of the Function Theory of Lexicography, which proposes that users do not have needs in general but punctual needs in specific situations. For example, translators of accounting texts need insertable equivalents whose meanings and language behaviour are clearly described. Furthermore, translators also need contextual data on domain-specific consensual usage. The construction of the Accounting Dictionaries and Diccionarios de Contabilidad reveals that the Function Theory offers theoretical and practical solutions for constructing dictionaries that target user needs in a pr…

When dad becomes a woman : A Critical Discourse Studies approach to gender performativity in American and Norwegian reality TV and documentary film

2018

Master's thesis English EN500 - University of Agder 2018 In this master's thesis I have wanted to say something about male-to-female transgender identity construction and the way in which it takes place in ordinary life. I have investigated how two different families negotiate the feminine gender identity of their father, and how these MTF informants 'do' gender. The conversations I have analyzed come from the Norwegian documentary film All about my father (2002), and two episodes each from the American reality TV series Keeping up with the Kardashians (2015) and I am Cait (2015). Documentary film provides research material that resembles authentic speech and constributes to the constructio…

Marlowe and company in Barnfield's Greene's Funeralls (1594)

2013

Public version of an article in the journal: Nordic Journal of English Studies (NJES). Also available from the publisher at: http://ojs.ub.gu.se/ojs/index.php/njes/article/view/2204 Open Access The accomplished and daring but minor poet Richard Barnfield (1574-1620) was among the first poets to engage creatively with the works of Greene, Marlowe, and Shakespeare. This article argues that Sonnet 9 in Barnfield’s Greene’s Funeralls (1594) reveals not only his admiration for these literary innovators, but also his difficult manoeuvres on the fringes of the group of poetic rivals. Barnfield’s often-quoted, but not fully understood “sonnet” reflects the young poet’s attempts to accost his more f…

Like Stripes on a Chokecherry Tree : Representations of Trauma and Consolidation of History in Neo-slave Narratives

2021

Master´s thesis in English (EN500) Literature has long been utilised to provide commentary on social and political injustices, give voice to discriminated peoples, and provide context in relation to social and cultural history. The aim of this thesis was to analyse the representations of trauma and slavery in the novels Kindred by Octavia E. Butler and Beloved by Toni Morrison in order to determine to what extent these novels aid the consolidation of the trauma and history of slavery with contemporary understanding. This was achieved using the historical context of slavery alongside a traumatheoretical framework including, but not limited to, primary and secondary trauma, cultural trauma, p…
