This paper presents a novel method for non-rigid registration of transrectal ultrasound and magnetic resonance prostate images based on a non-linear regularized framework of point correspondences obtained from a statistical measure of shape-contexts. The segmented prostate shapes are represented by shape-contexts and the Bhattacharyya distance between the shape representations is used to find the point correspondences between the 2D fixed and moving images. We describe a case of commotio cordis in which the patient had an extensive cardiac evaluation, including ECGs, a coronary angiogram, a left ventriculogram, repeated echocardiography and cardiovascular MRI (CMRI). A healthy 17-year-old boy sustained an open-handed blow to the anterior part of the chest from a friend with whom he was playing. On admission ECG was performed that showed ST-T alterations and a TNI increase, with echocardiographic evidence of a localised pericardial effusion associated with a persistent myocardial blush at selective angiography. The transfection efficacy of several vectors containing the full genomic hAAT gene with its natural promoter (pTG7101) and others containing the cDNA of hAAT gene driven by cytomegalovirus immediate-early promoter or the 0.5 kb upstream of hAAT gene sequence has been studied by hydrodynamic tail-vein injection (20 microg/mouse). pTG7101 (but not the other plasmids) results in therapeutic and stable concentration of hAAT in plasma. A dose-response study with this plasmid (0.3-320 microg/mouse) confirms that hAAT remains long-term stable in plasma, with therapeutic concentrations of hAAT (>0.9 mg/ml). First, to compare the contrast between spinal multiple myeloma (MM) focal lesions and surrounding bone marrow obtained on T2-weighted Dixon fat-only MR images to that obtained on T1-weighted spin-echo images.
