I polimorfismi del gene VDR FokI e BsmI non sembrano essere associati all’ipertensione arteriosa

RAZIONALE. Il nostro obiettivo è stato quello di analizzare la relazione tra livelli plasmatici di VitaminaD (VitD) e valori di pressione arteriosa clinica ed ambulatoria in ipertesi essenziali e di identificare un’eventuale associazione fra l’ipertensione e i polimorfismi del gene VDR, FokI e BsmI. Humans are attracted by the fertile properties of volcanic soils and currently around 10% of the world population lives within active volcanic areas. Volcanoes emit significantly amounts of potentially toxic elements such as selenium (Se), even in the absence of obvious volcanic activity. Although Se is an essential element for humans, ingestion of an excess amount of Se can produce adverse effects. Mt. Etna, the biggest volcano in Europe, is persistently active for the last 200,000 years and one of the most intensely monitored volcanoes. Formaldehyde and total aldehydes in indoor air of public environments by voltammetry

The proposed method involves active sampling, where a sampling pump is used to pull air through a solution and voltammetric analysis of the obtained solutions. No interferences have been observed. In addition, very little sample preparation is required. Analyses were performed in 19 indoor stations and one in outdoor. Measurements were carried out on University environments: Museum of Chemistry, Zoological Museum, libraries, laboratories, corridors, meeting rooms, photocopying room, machine shop and terrace. Formaldehyde concentrations in analyzed samples ranged from 2.6 to 85 μg m-3 (median = 32 μg m-3), while the sum of others aldehydes ranged from 2 to 25 μg m-3 (median =2.4 μg m-3). In …
Micro-determination of dithiocarbamates in pesticide formulations using voltammetry

Abstract The purpose of this work was to develop a reliable method for the micro-determination of dithiocarbamates (mancozeb, maneb, propineb, nabam, Na(CH3)2DTC, zineb, ziram, ferbam and thiram) in pesticide formulations for agriculture using adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV). The accuracy of analytical method was valued by analyzing simulate formulation samples prepared by us with known amounts of active ingredients. In addition, the applicability of the AdSV procedure for the analysis of DTCs and EBDTCs in micro-samples was evaluated by estimating its recoveries from spiked commercial formulate samples. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuvata suuhygienistin ja koululaisten välistä vuorovaikutusta ohjauskeskusteluissa, joissa kartoitettiin koululaisten herkkujen käyttö ja päivän ateriat. Tavoitteena oli tutkia koululaisten puhetta herkkujen käytöstä, suuhygienistin keinoja edistää koululaisten osallistumista ravitsemuskeskusteluun sekä kuinka koululaisten osallistuminen mahdollistui suun terveyden ravitsemuskeskusteluissa. Traces of the past: an interview study with Finnish war children who did not return to Finland after the Second World War

ABSTRACTThis paper is an in-depth qualitative study based on interviews with 10 Finnish children who were evacuated to Sweden during Second World War and who did not return to Finland after the war. The interviewees were asked to tell about their lives. Nine of them were between 2 and 5 years and one was 7 years old at the time of evacuation. The aim was to study how their childhood experiences were reflected in adult memories, how they remembered or did not remember. Bakalaura darba “Augu nosaukumu darināšana latviešu valodā” mērķis ir pētīt latviešu valodas augu nosaukumu darināšanas paņēmienus un līdzekļus. Teorētiskajā daļā apkopota informācija par vārddarināšanas paņēmieniem un līdzekļiem, kā arī sniegts konspektīvs ieskats pētījumos par augu nosaukumu darināšanu latviešu valodā. Darbā galvenokārt izmantota aprakstošā metode. Bakalaura darbā analizētie piemēri ekscerpēti no Ineses Ēdelmanes un Ārijas Ozolas vārdnīcas “Latviešu valodas augu nosaukumi” (2003).
