A 3.3 V Output Voltage Optical Plasmonic Solar Energy Harvester

2021

In this paper, for the first time, the design of a solar energy-harvester (EH) based on plasmonic optical nanorectennas and without the step-up converter is presented. The novel optical harvester with a 49497∗14286 nanoarray of about 21,21 mm2 presents an output voltage value of 3.3 V and an output current of 10 mA.

A 2.6 V-10 μa Nanorectenna Harvester based on thermal radiation of the car exhaust system

2021

In this paper, for the first time, the design and simulation of a thermal nanorectenna energy harvester for harvesting the electromagnetic energy from the car exhaust system is presented. The nanorectenna system is composed of three gold arrow-bowtie nanoantennas with different resonance frequencies and a geometric nanodiode in the feed gap of each nanoantenna. The resonance frequencies at about 50 THz, 65 THz, and 83 THz correspond to the frequencies of the thermal radiation emitted from the exhaust tailpipe, catalytic converter, and manifold, respectively. The proposed $2.6 mathbf{V}-10 mumathbf{A}$ Energy Harvester with a nanoarray area of about 0,05 mm2 represents an optimum solution to…

Antagonistic roles for Ultrabithorax and Antennapedia in regulating segment-specific apoptosis of differentiated motoneurons in the Drosophila embryo…

2008

The generation of morphological diversity among segmental units of the nervous system is crucial for correct matching of neurons with their targets and for formation of functional neuromuscular networks. However, the mechanisms leading to segment diversity remain largely unknown. We report here that the Hox genes Ultrabithorax (Ubx) and Antennapedia (Antp) regulate segment-specific survival of differentiated motoneurons in the ventral nerve cord of Drosophilaembryos. We show that Ubx is required to activate segment-specific apoptosis in these cells, and that their survival depends on Antp. Expression of the Ubx protein is strongly upregulated in the motoneurons shortly before they undergo a…

Early steps in building the insect brain: neuroblast formation and segmental patterning in the developing brain of different insect species

2003

In insects, morphological, molecular and genetic studies have provided a detailed insight into the ontogenetic processes that shape the ventral nerve cord. On the other hand, owing to its complexity and less obvious segmental composition, the knowledge about the development of the brain is still fragmentary. A promising approach towards gaining insight into fundamental processes underlying brain development is the comparison of embryonic brain development among different insect species. However, so far such comparative analyses are scarce. In this review, we summarize and compare data on the early steps in brain formation in different hemi- and holometabolous insects. We show that basic asp…

Miksi he tanssivat? Miksi tanssi on merkityksellistä ja tärkeää heille ja kuinka he suhteuttavat itsensä osaksi yhteiskuntaa näiden merkitysten kautta. Lopuksi pohdin saamieni tulosten valossa miten yhteiskunta arvottaa ja arvostaa tanssin harrastajaa, ja kuinka yhteiskunta vastaa näihin tanssin harrastajan tanssille antamiin merkityksiin. Tutkimusaineistona käytän Olennaisia ‐prosessin tuottamaa materiaalia, havaintoja, videoita, keskusteluja ja tanssijoiden työstämiä kirjoituksia. Aluksi esittelen erilaisia tanssin määritelmiä, pureudun tanssin historiaan ja tutkimukseen, …
