Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are becoming increasingly widespread in modern power systems, thanks to the important benefits they can provide to the electricity grid. Indeed, BESS can be used in time shifting applications, storing energy during off-peak periods and discharging during peak times (when the cost of electricity is high). When BESS are used for peak shaving purposes, they also contribute to relieve peak demand charges, thus ensuring a saving for the consumers. Artikkelissa hahmottelemme ympäristökriisit huomioivaa ja ympäristön suhteen vastuullista toimijuutta tuottavaa feminististä pedagogiikkaa tiedontuotannon kysymyksenä. Tarkastelemme ensinnäkin feministisen pedagogiikan eri keskusteluperinteitä ja niiden mahdollisuuksia ympäristökriisien ymmärtämisessä ja käsittelyssä. Toiseksi hahmottelemme queer-pedagogiikan pohjalta ympäristökysymykset huomioivaa erojen pedagogiikkaa, jossa sovellamme tuottavan hämmennyksen käsitettä ympäristökysymyksiin. (1) Introduction: The aim of this study was to analyze scientific production, collaboration among countries, and research topics focusing on pediatric obesity. (2) Methods: The papers that were included in the study were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection from Clarivate Analytics. A bibliometric analysis of several focuses, including journals of publication, subject categories, most frequent author keywords, and journal impact factors, was conducted. Rational Herding in Reward-Based Crowdfunding: An MTurk Experiment.

Crowdfunding is gaining popularity as a way of financing social sustainable initiatives. We performed a controlled economic experiment in MTurk by simulating a crowdfunding platform and developed a theoretical model that rationalizes herding behavior. The experiment was designed to test and quantify the causal effects of revealing specific information to prospective backers: (i) the number of early contributors already financing the project and (ii) positive opinions of other backers versus those of experts. The results show that early contributions to the campaign and positive opinions of peers act as a reinforcing signal to potential backers and affect backers&rsquo

This case study addresses high school students’ peer feedback in an online wiki-environment. In the study the students worked in three small groups and wrote short texts. Their assignment was taken from the literacy skills test of the Finnish Matriculation Examination, autumn 2010, and the source text in question was an excerpt from the novel Askeleen jäljessä (One Step Behind) by Henning Mankell.
