Conformal equivalence of visual metrics in pseudoconvex domains

We refine estimates introduced by Balogh and Bonk, to show that the boundary extensions of isometries between smooth strongly pseudoconvex domains in $\C^n$ are conformal with respect to the sub-Riemannian metric induced by the Levi form. As a corollary we obtain an alternative proof of a result of Fefferman on smooth extensions of biholomorphic mappings between pseudoconvex domains. The proofs are inspired by Mostow's proof of his rigidity theorem and are based on the asymptotic hyperbolic character of the Kobayashi or Bergman metrics and on the Bonk-Schramm hyperbolic fillings.

Nonexistence of Quasiconformal Maps Between Certain Metric Measure Spaces

We provide new conditions that ensure that two metric measure spaces are not quasiconformally equivalent. As an application, we deduce that there exists no quasiconformal map between the sub-Riemannian Heisenberg and roto-translation groups.

Abstract Quotient spaces of locally compact Stonian spaces which generalize in some sense the concept of Stone representation space of a Boolean algebra are investigated emphasizing the measure theoretical point of view, and a representation theorem for finitely additive measures is proved.

Multi-resolution analysis generated by a seed function

In this paper we use the equivalence result originally proved by the author, which relates a multiresolution analysis (MRA) of ℒ2(R) and an orthonormal set of single electron wave functions in the lowest Landau level, to build up a procedure which produces, starting with a certain square-integrable function, a MRA of ℒ2(R). © 2003 American Institute of Physics.

Isometric factorization of vector measures and applications to spaces of integrable functions

Let $X$ be a Banach space, $\Sigma$ be a $\sigma$-algebra, and $m:\Sigma\to X$ be a (countably additive) vector measure. It is a well known consequence of the Davis-Figiel-Johnson-Pelczýnski factorization procedure that there exist a reflexive Banach space $Y$, a vector measure $\tilde{m}:\Sigma \to Y$ and an injective operator $J:Y \to X$ such that $m$ factors as $m=J\circ \tilde{m}$. We elaborate some theory of factoring vector measures and their integration operators with the help of the isometric version of the Davis-Figiel-Johnson-Pelczýnski factorization procedure. Medroxyprogesterone acetate: steady-state pharmacokinetics bioequivalence of two oral formulations

Two micronized oral formulations of medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) (Farlutal and Clinovir) were compared in order to evaluate their relative bioavailability. Sixteen female patients with metastatic breast cancer were entered in a randomized cross-over study on 500-mg MPA tablets repeatedly administered (twice daily for 20 days). At the steady state, similar mean +/- SD serum levels of MPA were obtained (131 +/- 44 ng/ml for Farlutal and 136 +/- 45 ng/ml for Clinovir) and the two formulations proved to be bioequivalent (confidence interval at a significance level of 0.95 = 93%-107%).

One of the most popular state-space reduction techniques for model checking is partial-order reduction (POR). Of the many different POR implementations, stubborn sets are a very versatile variant and have thus seen many different applications over the past 32 years. One of the early stubborn sets works shows how the basic conditions for reduction can be augmented to preserve stutter-trace equivalence, making stubborn sets suitable for model checking of linear-time properties. Literature data pertaining to the physicochemical, pharmaceutical, and pharmacokinetic properties of ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate are reviewed to arrive at a decision on whether a marketing authorization of an immediate release (IR) solid oral dosage form can be approved based on a Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS)-based biowaiver. Ondansetron, a 5HT3 receptor antagonist, is used at doses ranging from 4 mg to 24 mg in the management of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and postoperative treatment. Multitasking associative networks.

We introduce a bipartite, diluted and frustrated, network as a sparse restricted Boltzman machine and we show its thermodynamical equivalence to an associative working memory able to retrieve multiple patterns in parallel without falling into spurious states typical of classical neural networks. We focus on systems processing in parallel a finite (up to logarithmic growth in the volume) amount of patterns, mirroring the low-level storage of standard Amit-Gutfreund-Sompolinsky theory.
