Abstract Introduction: Carfilzomib (Cfz) significantly prolongs progression-free survival in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma patients, as highlighted in the ENDEAVOR trial. However, Cfz has high incidences of cardiotoxicity and heart failure, leading to treatment cessation. Thus, there is an imperative need for preventive therapies. A number of authors have stated that the problem of classifying patients whose diagnosis does not meet all the criteria of anorexia and bulimia nervosa has not been satisfactorily solved. The question has been asked if it is justified to regard characteristics like "weight phobia" or body image disturbance as valid diagnostic criteria. Background: Under-diagnosis and delayed diagnosis are common features in rare diseases, which have negative effects on the patients9 prognosis. A possible explanation could be lack of awareness and education of the health professionals involved in the managements of these patients. Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) and primary ciliary dyskinesia (DCP) are under-diagnosed rare diseases showing a median diagnosis delay of five to ten years. Alpha decay of the new isotopes207, 208Ac

1994

Two new neutron-deficient isotopes207,208Ac have been produced in fusion reactions with 5.2–5.6 MeV/nucleon40Ar ions on175Lu and identified on the basis of genetic correlations. The fusion evaporation products were separated on-line using a gas-filled magnetic recoil separator. The alpha energy and half-life of208Ac were determined to be (7572±15) keV and (95 −16 +24 ) ms, respectively. A new alpha line with a half-life of (25 −5 +9 ) ms and an energy of (7758±20) keV is assigned to the decay of an isomeric state in208Ac. Another new activity with a half-life of (22 −9 +40 ) ms and an alpha energy of (7712±25) keV is assigned to207Ac.

High-statistics measurement of the β-delayed α spectrum of 20Na

A measurement of the 20Na β-delayed alpha spectrum with a high-granularity setup has allowed the decay scheme to be revised on several points. Three new transitions of low intensity are found at low α -particle energy. Measurement of the decay rate and form factor parameter in the decay KL→e+e−γ

Abstract The decay rate of the neutral K meson KL→e+e−γ has been measured with the NA48 detector at the CERN SPS. A total of 6864 events has been observed with an estimated background of 10 events. The branching ratio is Γ(KL→e+e−γ)/Γ(KL→all) = (1.06±0.02stat±0.02sys±0.04calc)×10−5. The parameter α K ∗ describing the relative strength of the two contributing amplitudes to this decay through intermediate pseudoscalar or vector mesons was measured to be α K ∗ =−0.36±0.06stat±0.02sys.

Intrasexual competition at work: Sex differences in the jealousy-evoking effect of rival characteristics in work settings

Sex differences in jealousy-evoking rival characteristics in the relationship with a supervisor at work were examined in a community sample of 188 individuals from Argentina. Among men, the rivals’ social dominance and communal attributes evoked the most jealousy, followed by physical dominance. Among women, the rival’s communal attributes evoked the most jealousy, followed by social dominance and physical attractiveness. For men physical dominance of the rival and for women physical attractiveness of the rival evoked relatively more jealousy, especially among those high in intrasexual competition and confronted with a same-sex supervisor.
