Detection of  9-Tetrahydrocannabinol and Amphetamine-Type Stimulants in Oral Fluid Using the Rapid Stat  Point-of-Collection Drug-Testing Device

The Rapid Stat assay, a point-of-collection drug-testing device for detection of amphetamines, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, methadone, and benzodiazepines in oral fluid, was evaluated for cannabis and amphetamine-type stimulants. The Rapid Stat tests (n = 134) were applied by police officers in routine traffic checks. Oral fluid and blood samples were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for Delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol, amphetamine, methamphetamine, methylenedioxymethamphetamine, methylenedioxyethylamphetamine, and methylenedioxyamphetamine. Simultaneous determination of traditional and emerging illicit drugs in sediments, sludges and particulate matter

An analytical method for determining traditional and emerging drugs of abuse in particulate matter, sewage sludge and sediment has been developed and validated. A total of 41 drugs of abuse and metabolites including cocainics, tryptamines, amphetamines, arylcyclohexylamines, cathinones, morphine derivatives, pyrrolidifenones derivatives, entactogens, piperazines and other psychostimulants were selected. Samples were ultrasound extracted with McIlvaine buffer and methanol, and the extracts were cleaned up by solid phase extraction (SPE) using Strata-X cartridges. Abstract Dehydration of natural gas by absorption using triethylene glycol (TEG) is a common industrial offshore procedure to ensure the compliance with the required water dew point specifications for midstream transportation. Partial Discharge on-line measures in cable's EPR insulation

In this paper, an experimental study, carried out on an operating MV cable, is presented. The aim is to identify, locate and characterize defects in the cable's EPR (ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber) insulation. Direct partial discharge measurements have been compared to those obtained by high frequency electromagnetic field measures. The latter have been carried out using a sensor which does not require any galvanic connection with the system under test and that performs an intrinsic localization of the defect. Moreover, an analysis of an MV cable junction has been carried out using the same tools.

On the nature of organic electron density transfer complexes within molecular electron density theory.

The structural features of a series of organic molecular complexes formed between the strong electrophilic tetracyanoethylene and twelve benzene derivatives with increased nucleophilic character, herein called Electron Density Transfer Complexes (EDTCs), have been studied using Molecular Electron Density Theory. The favourable nucleophilic/electrophilic interactions, which favour the global electron density transfer (GEDT) towards the electrophile, are responsible for the formation of these species. How does the global electron density transfer diminish activation energies in polar cycloaddition reactions? A Molecular Electron Density Theory study

Abstract The key role of the Global Electron Density Transfer (GEDT) in polar cycloaddition reactions is analysed within the Molecular Electron Density Theory (MEDT) using Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations at the MPWB1K/6-311G(d) computational level. A comparative MEDT study of the non-polar Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene (Cp) and ethylene and the polar Diels-Alder reaction between Cp and tetracyanoethylene makes it possible to establish that the GEDT taking place in the direction of the transition state structures favours the bonding changes required for the formation of the new C C single bonds along polar cycloaddition reactions.
