The lectin binding sites of the synovium of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis were investigated. It was shown that Ulex europaeus agglutinin is a constant marker of the vascular endothelium and is not induced during the course of inflammatory process in rheumatoid arthritis.

Ultrasound is a fast, reliable and radiation-free method for the assessment of a wide range of pathological conditions, as well as for the guidance of percutaneous interventional procedures around the elbow, hand and wrist. Intraarticular and periarticular interventional procedures can be easily performed under continuous ultrasound monitoring to ensure correct needle positioning and medication delivery to a specific target. The most common ultrasound-guided procedures performed around the elbow, wrist, and hand are described in this review, excluding carpal tunnel procedures. Orbital Decompression for Endocrine Ophthalmopathy: The Endonasal Approach

A surgical endonasal procedure is described to perform orbital decompression in patients suffering from ophthalmopathy in Grave's disease. The decompression technique employs removal of the lamina papyracea as an exclusive modality or in conjunction with a transmaxillary or lateral decompression approach. This present series contain 23 patients who underwent decompression over a 3-year period and were followed for at least 6 months postoperative. The results of decompression were assessed by measuring reduction in proptosis and visual acuity. All patients demonstrated improved visual acuity. The soil nematode community plays an important role in ecosystem services. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of Super-high density (SHD) olive orchards on the nematode community in five sites with different soils, climates, and cultivars. At each site, the SHD management system was compared to the adjacent olive orchard traditional (TRAD) system, in which the same soil management and phytosanitary measures were applied. Las neuropatías del trigémino de origen tumoral suponen un bajo porcentaje de las neuropatías trigeminales, pero pueden tener muy mal pronóstico. Es importante descartar una neoplasia en los pacientes con adormecimiento en el territorio del trigémino. Presentamos 7 casos de neuropatías trigeminales secundarias a tumores; en 4 existían antecedentes de neoplasias sistémicas previas y en 3 la neuropatía fue el primer signo de la enfermedad tumoral. En tres ocasiones la lesión se localizó en mandíbula, una en base de cráneo, una en troncoencéfalo, una a nivel cerebral y en una no se encontró el nivel lesional. Objectives: Despite the interest in scientific community, there is still poor evidence about pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) efficacy in the treatment of neuropathic pain. In order to determine whether high-voltage PRF and epidural adhesiolysis (PRF-EA) showed better results than epidural adhesiolysis alone (EA), a randomized, double-blind, comparative-effectiveness study was conducted in patients with chronic lumbosacral radiating pain and neuropathic features.
