A New Evangelization in the life of the family and the church

The Church is at all times guiding the truth and credibility of the Gospel. Reflecting on the role of the New Evangelization in the family, it is worth stopping at the concept and meaning of the family. The family is holy, as St. John Paul II is a place where life is properly protected and can develop. The family is a community of people who aspires to eternal life. In Christian terms, the family is a community of parents and children built on the relationship of man and woman. As the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church of Lumen Gentium emphasizes, the family is referred to as the home church. This is where the functions of the Church are fulfilled: priesthood, royal and prophetic.

With an interest in the origins of various representations of Japan during the Enlightenment, we have studied three centuries of Japanese history as they relate to the West. Even though in the eighteenth century China was of primary interest, some French authors refer to the Land of the Rising Sun in their texts. This was true even though there was no contact between Japan and the West at that time. Therefore, in order to write about Japan, they had to rely on older texts to obtain information. Współczesny Kościół nawołuje wszystkich wiernych do podjęcia mentalnego nawrócenia, które ma polegać na uświadomieniu sobie na nowo swojej tożsamości i wypływającego z niej posłania do dzieła ewangelizacji. Jednym ze sposobów pastoralnego nawrócenia jest podjęcie pięciu kroków, które symbolizuje pierwszych pięć liter alfabetu: A, B, C, D, E. Aby stać się autentycznym ewangelizatorem, należy najpierw adorować Boga, modlić się, następnie być dla ludzi bratem i siostrą, starać się praktykować chrześcijańską caritas (miłość) i czuć się uczniem Jezusa. Dopiero wtedy, gdy te kroki będą podjęte, osoba wierząca stanie się z pomocą łaski Bożej autentycznym ewangelizatorem.

Cette note concerne l’exceptionnelle plaque-boucle au Christ cavalier de l’Apocalypse découverte à Ladoix-Serrigny et étudiée précédemment dans cette revue. Son objectif est de discuter l’hypothèse récemment émise selon laquelle saint Landelin, qui a vécu au VIIe siècle dans le nord de la Gaule, serait Landelinus, l’auteur de cet objet. Plusieurs arguments militent en faveur de cette interprétation qui nous paraît donc plausible, même si elle reste fragile. This article discusses the process of canonization of two African slaves, Benedict and Anthony, who were taken to Sicily through a combination of privacy wars, the slave trade and conflicts between Christian states and the Ottoman Empire in the context of modern-era Mediterranean. Along with other "servants of God" with exemplary lives, they both joined the Franciscan Order and were elevated to the altar after their deaths, while enslaved Christians in African territory "took the turban" with some even became local Muslim authorities.
