Smartphone Usage Among Millennial in Finland and Implications for Marketing Segmentation Strategies: Lessons for Nigeria

The study examines smart phone usage by millennials based on different criteria of operating system, Wi-Fi, text messaging, internet surfing and social media. The study used quantitative methodology and data were gathered with online questionnaires with 391 young smartphone users in Finland. The Millennial were clustered into five levels. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to extend brand identification theory to the sports team context by testing the direct and indirect effects of a sports team’s personality, sports fans’ identification with the team, and the effect of the length of fans’ relationship with a team on their loyalty to it. This article try to deal with the complex influence of television viewing in the process of socialization of children and adolescents, focusing our attention on the importance of the family as the mediator-educator agency of particular relevance. Once analyzed the basic theoretical assumptions, we deepened in reality under study by providing data about how the studied population lives television and what extent parental mediation influences and affects the process. The observations were carried out in a four-year-old experimental orchard of cv. ''Flordastar'' peach trees grafted onto Ishtara Barrier GF677 and MrS 2/5 rootstocks. On digital pictures of leafless dormant peach trees the tree skeleton was manually depicted by an image analysis software to measure total length and angles of insertion of branches. Bitmaps of the skeleton were then subjected to a specific software (FDCALC) able to calculate D by the "box counting" method. To account for the error introduced by analyzing a three dimensional structure with its 2D projection measurements were done on two images per tree taken from two different viewing angles. Results are shown in relation to tree vigour of the scion/stock combination. Fractal dimension was related to the vigour ranking of the graft combinations tested. Una nuova acquisizione iconografica per la ricostruzione della tribuna di Antonello Gagini nella Cattedrale di Palermo

La recente digitalizzazione di un dipinto di anonimo siciliano nelle collezioni del Museo de Historia di Madrid e il suo inserimento nei database del patrimonio culturale spagnolo ed europeo ha consentito di riportare all’attenzione della comunità scientifica un’importante raffigurazione pittorica della tribuna di Antonello Gagini nella Cattedrale di Palermo. Dopo avere ripercorso le principali fonti documentarie ed iconografiche relative alla tribuna, viene qui presentata l’opera oggi a Madrid, che fornisce un prezioso riscontro alle fonti fin qui note.

The recent digitisation of a painting by an anonymous Sicilian in the collections of the Museo de Historia in Madrid and its inclusion in the Spanish and European cultural heritage databases has made it possible to bring an important pictorial representation of Antonello Gagini’s tribune in Palermo Cathedral back to the attention of the scientific community. After reviewing the main documentary and iconographic sources relating to the tribune the work now in Madrid is presented here which provides a valuable comparison to the sources known so far.

Significance of the remotely sensed thermal infrared measurements obtained over a citrus orchard

Abstract In this work we have developed a theoretical model that helps the interpretation of the remotely sensed thermal infrared measurements carried out over citrus orchards. A detailed analysis of the different factors which take part in the definition of the effective emissivity and temperature (observation height, viewing angle, type of soil, dimensions and separation between orange trees) is made. The model was validated under vertical observation in a citrus orchard during seven nights. In this situation we have determined that the model performs to an accuracy of about 1%.

Non-sampling errors occur in all social sciences, tourism included. Apart from coverage and non-response, tourism research suffers from noteworthy measurement errors. The limitation and control of non-sampling errors plays a key role to prevent serious biases in research outputs. The entire survey design process could be based on the control and reduction of non-sampling errors. From this point of view, face-to-face interviewing represents an effective response to some common threats to data quality, particularly errors attributable to respondents and non-response.

Non-conventional yeasts from fermented honey by-products: Focus on Hanseniaspora uvarum strains for craft beer production

The increasing interest in novel beer productions focused on non-Saccharomyces yeasts in order to pursue their potential in generating groundbreaking sensory profiles. Traditional fermented beverages represent an important source of yeast strains which could express interesting features during brewing. A total of 404 yeasts were isolated from fermented honey by-products and identified as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Wickerhamomyces anomalus, Zygosaccharomyces bailii, Zygosaccharomyces rouxii and Hanseniaspora uvarum.
