Left braces and the quantum Yang-Baxter equation

[EN] Braces were introduced by Rump in 2007 as a useful tool in the study of the set-theoretic solutions of the Yang¿Baxter equation. In fact, several aspects of the theory of finite left braces and their applications in the context of the Yang¿Baxter equation have been extensively investigated recently. The main aim of this paper is to introduce and study two finite brace theoretical properties associated with nilpotency, and to analyse their impact on the finite solutions of the Yang¿Baxter equation.

Time-dependent asymmetric traveling salesman problem with time windows: Properties and an exact algorithm

Abstract In this paper, we deal with the Time-Dependent Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Problem with Time Windows. First, we prove that under special conditions the problem can be solved as an Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Problem with Time Windows, with suitable-defined time windows and (constant) travel times. Second, we show that, if the special conditions do not hold, the time-independent optimal solution provides both a lower bound and (eventually) an upper bound with a worst-case guarantee for the Time-Dependent Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Problem with Time Windows. Finally, a branch-and-bound algorithm is presented and tested on a set of 4800 instances. The results have been compared…

Tailoring the Exchange Interaction in Covalently Linked Basic Carboxylate Clusters through Bridging Ligand Selection

We are reporting new dimeric units of basic carboxylates bearing the {Fe III 2M IIO} motif for M = Co and Ni, covalently bound through the tetradentate bridging (LL) 2,2′-azopyiridine (azpy) and 2,3-di(2-pyridyl)quinoxaline ligands (dpq). We structurally characterized the hexanuclear clusters, and their magnetic properties have been fully analyzed. DFT calculations have been performed as a supplementary tool. All results evidence a weak antiferromagnetic interaction through the bridging ligands between isolated spin ground states arising from intra-Fe 2MO core exchange couplings. Multi-channel search for squarks and gluinos in root s=7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector at the LHC

A search for supersymmetric particles in final states with zero, one, and two leptons, with and without jets identified as originating from b-quarks, in 4.7 fb[superscript −1] of √s = 7 TeV pp collisions produced by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded by the ATLAS detector is presented. The search uses a set of variables carrying information on the event kinematics transverse and parallel to the beam line that are sensitive to several topologies expected in supersymmetry. Mutually exclusive final states are defined, allowing a combination of all channels to increase the search sensitivity. No deviation from the Standard Model expectation is observed. The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines aim at improving asthma control and preventing future risk. For patients with moderate to severe asthma an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) or an ICS/long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA) combination with a short-acting beta2-agonist (SABA) as reliever is recommended. In mild asthma low-dose steroid inhalation treatment reduces severe exacerbations and exacerbation associated loss of lung function. In patients with mild asthma, symptom-driven use of a combination of inhaled steroid and short-acting beta-2-sympathomimetics in a single inhaler is feasible. In moderate and severe asthma the fixed combination of formoterol and budesonide can be used a maintenance therapy but also as treatment of acute symptoms.
