Context: the observation of young stars with circumstellar disks suggests that the disks are dissipated, starting from the inner region, by the radiation of the central star and eventually by the formation of rocky planetesimals, over a time scale of several million years. It was also shown that strong UV radiation emitted by nearby massive stars can heat a circumstellar disk up to some thousand degrees, inducing the photoevaporation of the gas. This process strongly reduces the dissipation time scale. Several derivatives of tyrosine or its methyl ester have been synthesized in which the para hydroxyl group on the aromatic side chain has been converted to a long chain alkyl ether or urethane. The surface behavior of these compounds is discussed. Enantiomeric discrimination, the ability of a chiral molecule to distinguish between mirror-image stereoisomers, has been investigated for the urethane derivates by comparing the surface pressure-area isotherms of the enantiomer with that of the racemic compound. Aiming at preventing excessive weight gain during pregnancy, 10 specific dietary recommendations are given to pregnant women in the intervention arm of the Norwegian Fit for Delivery (FFD) study. This paper presents the rationale and test-retest reliability of the food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) and a dietary score measuring adherence to the recommendations. The study is part of the ongoing FFD study, a randomised, controlled, intervention study in nulliparous pregnant women. A 43-item FFQ was developed for the FFD study. Abstract Isotope labeling has been widely used to study reactions involving oxygen species in amorphous SiO 2 ( a -SiO 2 ). This article briefly describes recent progress in 18 O labeling techniques to study reactions involving interstitial oxygen molecules (O 2 ), which is one of the most important excess oxygen species in a -SiO 2 . The primary focus will be on the combination of the 18 O labeling with photoluminescence spectroscopy, which enables sensitive and selective detection of interstitial O 2 . Advantages of this method and results of evaluation of oxygen exchange between interstitial O 2 and the Si―O network of a -SiO 2 will be presented.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is one of the most common therapies for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). We present a brief, patient-reported outcome measure used to assess patients' levels of adherence with CPAP treatment.A questionnaire was developed based on academic literature. We qualitatively tested a pool of 18 items. It was tested in a sample of 174 patients from the Hospital La Princesa. Next, 1021 patients from Catalonia were evaluated.5 items were removed.
