Chronic obstructive lung disease “expert system”: Validation of a predictive tool for assisting diagnosis
2018
Purpose: The purposes of this study were development and validation of an expert system (ES) aimed at supporting the diagnosis of chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD). Methods: A questionnaire and a WebFlex code were developed and validated in silico. An expert panel pilot validation on 60 cases and a clinical validation on 241 cases were performed. Results: The developed questionnaire and code validated in silico resulted in a suitable tool to support the medical diagnosis. The clinical validation of the ES was performed in an academic setting that included six different reference centers for respiratory diseases. Assembly 2, the home of groups “02.01: acute critical care” and “02.02: noninvasive ventilatory support”, is a growing and active assembly within the European Respiratory Society (ERS). The number of members in Assembly 2 is steadily increasing, reaching a total of 846 in 2016. The members of Assembly 2 are young, with up to 40% of the members of Assembly 2 aged <40 years, and scientifically active, with 120 accepted abstracts at the recent ERS International Congress 2106 in London. Big Data in Corporate Governance decision
2020
[EN] Progress in Big Data in recent years has grown exponentially, which has allowed the detection and processing of a large amount of data. Until recently, this fact was unattainable by the lack of mechanization of the corporate governance reports. This paper investigates the relationship between corporate governance decisions affect the indebtedness policies of 1,956 industrial companies listed in Europe and the USA over the period 2016–2018 (5,868 observations). To measure corporate governance decisions, we use detailed information on the expertise of audit committees, the proportion of independent directors, board structures and women's presence on corporate boards. Our findings, which …
Controlling Domains with High Levels of Hysteresis Using Qualitative Modelling
1997
A Dynamic Reasoning Architecture for Computer Network Management
2005
This paper focuses on improving network management and monitoring by the adoption of Artificial Intelli- gence techniques. In order to allow automated reasoning on networking concepts, we defined an accurate ontologi- cal model capable of describing as better as possible the networking domain. The thorough representation of the do- main knowledge is used by a Logical Reasoner, which is an expert system capable of performing high-level manage- ment tasks.
