The debate around competence and its enemies is more alive today than ever. Very heated, a little confused. Never before has the expert, the competent, the experienced connoisseur of men and things been in the spotlight of the news, the undisputed protagonist, but also the acclaimed antagonist, of the discourse of the media, and therefore, by transitive property, of the life of all of us, both social and individual. Never before has the expert been invoked to try to understand what is happening, what has happened, and above all what could happen to us.

Today, the crisis of expertise coincides with the role that political and scientific decisions have assumed in tackling and solving enormous community problems: from environmental pollution to immigration, from vaccines to pandemics. On the one hand, there is an urgent need for the expertise of specialists, acquired by degrees, or the tacit, embedded knowledge of 'amateurs by profession', who intercede and translate between several areas of knowledge. On the other, this knowledge and skill is opposed, and everyone feels entitled to have their say. It is a paradox.

International audience; L’objet de la présente communication est d’étudier le rôle et la place de la logistique dans les cabinets d’expertise comptable. Après avoir défini le métier d’expert-comptable et ses orientations stratégiques ainsi que la logistique appliquée au service, nous examinerons en quoi la logistique constitue un enjeu stratégique pour les cabinets d'expertise comptables. Notre démarche méthodologie reposera sur une analyse exploratoire à partir d’études de cas. Elle devra permettre de mettre en évidence les opportunités de cette logistique de service pour des cabinets d’expertise-comptable et une lecture de leur stratégie par la logistique.
Protons for Jehovah’s Witnesses? How press coverage of Ashya King’s case brought proton beam therapy to the public arena

The case of Ashya King, the child brain tumour patient whose parents took from a British hospital so he could be treated with Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) abroad, contributed to popularize that technology among a general audience. Through the content analysis of British and Spanish press coverage (N=329), our research shows that proton therapy enjoyed scarce coverage in the analysed media before Ashya King’s case. His story, magnified due to the fact that his parents were Jehovah’s witnesses was a cause both for public concern and media sensationalism. In this article, we (1) examine the various forms of support required by older users (75+) of digital technology and (2) provide a concrete, everyday life rationale for why warm experts play such a pivotal role in the processes of adopting and using ICT. Although warm experts are usually not older adults themselves, they provide an important mediating view on the technology use among older people that has not been rigorously addressed in previous studies. Resumen: El presente artículo expone los resultados del diseño y la validación de un cuestionario sobre fracaso escolar, dirigido al alumnado de Educación Secundaria. Se trabajó con una muestra de 200 estudiantes en el Centro de F.P.A (Formación de Personas Adultas) Germà Colón de Castelló de la Plana (España) durante el curso 2010/2011. El instrumento está compuesto por 35 ítems, divididos en cuatro dimensiones principales (centro educativo, aula, profesorado y situación personal y familiar).
