En revistas educativas los errores terminológicos y conceptuales son abordados con mayor frecuencia que descuidos referidos a problemas numéricos y ejercicios. En este artículo se plantea una posible taxonomía inicial de errores comunes en problemas numéricos de física escolar. Los tipos de errores identificados se pueden dividir en cinco grandes grupos: errores de valor numérico, errores de datos numéricos contradictorios, errores situacionales, errores de modelación y errores conceptuales. Para cada tipo de error se ofrecen algunas indicaciones para ayudar al profesor a detectarlos en los libros de textos y evitarlos en el propio diseño de problemas. Valencia ESP
Cosmological hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy clusters: X-ray scaling relations and their evolution

We analyse cosmological hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy clusters to study the X-ray scaling relations between total masses and observable quantities such as X-ray luminosity, gas mass, X-ray temperature, and $Y_{X}$. Three sets of simulations are performed with an improved version of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics GADGET-3 code. These consider the following: non-radiative gas, star formation and stellar feedback, and the addition of feedback by active galactic nuclei (AGN). We select clusters with $M_{500} > 10^{14} M_{\odot} E(z)^{-1}$, mimicking the typical selection of Sunyaev-Zeldovich samples. A search has been performed for the experimental signature of an isolated photon with high transverse momentum, at least one jet identified as originating from a bottom quark, and high missing transverse momentum. Such a final state may originate from supersymmetric models with gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking in events in which one of a pair of higgsino-like neutralinos decays into a photon and a gravitino while the other decays into a Higgs boson and a gravitino. Measurement of the top quark pair production cross-section with ATLAS in the single lepton channel

A measurement of the production cross-section for top quark pairs (t[bar over t]) in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV is presented using data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events are selected in the single lepton topology by requiring an electron or muon, large missing transverse momentum and at least three jets. With a data sample of 35 pb[superscript −1], two different multivariate methods, one of which uses b-quark jet identification while the other does not, use kinematic variables to obtain cross-section measurements of σ[subscript t bar over t] = 187 ± 11 (stat.)
