La tesi ripercorre gli eventi anche attraverso il filtro della loro dimensione privata, ritrovando in Raffaele Leone, architetto e regista della città, un’importante "cerniera" tra il periodo compreso tra i due conflitti mondiali e gli anni del secondo dopoguerra. Some lasers have demonstrated to provide effective disinfection when used as adjunctive device to the conventional treatment. The aim of this in vitro study was to determine the effectiveness of the erbium, chromium:yttrium scandium gallium garnet (Er, Cr:YSGG) laser by measuring its bactericidal effect inside the root canal experimentally colonized with Enterococcus faecalis. The laser was tested at different irradiation times (30 and 60 s) and energy of impulses (75 and 25 mJ). Animal rennets as sources of dairy lactic acid bacteria

ABSTRACT The microbial composition of artisan and industrial animal rennet pastes was studied by using both culture-dependent and -independent approaches. Pyrosequencing targeting the 16S rRNA gene allowed to identify 361 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) to the genus/species level. Among lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Streptococcus thermophilus and some lactobacilli, mainly Lactobacillus crispatus and Lactobacillus reuteri , were the most abundant species, with differences among the samples. Twelve groups of microorganisms were targeted by viable plate counts revealing a dominance of mesophilic cocci. In the present work the microbial dynamics in wheat kernels were evaluated over time. The main aim of this research was to study the resistance of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and yeasts associated to unprocessed cereals used for bread making during long term conservation. To this purpose four Triticum durum Desf. genotypes including two modern varieties (Claudio and Simeto) and two Sicilian wheat landraces (Russello and Timilia) were analysed by a combined culture-independent and -dependent microbiological approach after one, two or three years from cultivation and threshing. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es transmitir el contexto en el que se produjo la formación musical del compositor Rafael Martínez Valls (Ontinyent, 1895-Barcelona, 1946) en Valencia, ciudad en la que, además, efectuó sus primeros trabajos como músico. Se pretende aportar una contextualización de la actividad musical valenciana que él vivió, para entender su trayectoria posterior. El artículo parte de 1908, año en el que el compositor llega a Valencia y se cierra diez años después. Junto a los músicos valencianos que marcaron su formación, la atención se focaliza en los aspectos en los que Martínez Valls trabajaría de forma especial en su trayectoria profesional.
