Bakalaura darbā analizētas ilgtermiņa izmaiņas Randu pļavu stiebrmušu cenozēs uz meteoroloģisko un antropogēno faktoru fona 14 gadu laikā no 1996. – 2009. gadam. Darba mērķa sasniegšanai izvirzītie uzdevumi ir pētīt šo kukaiņu skaita un sugu bagātības izmaiņas uz dabisko, tostarp arī meteoroloģisko faktoru, un ar apsaimniekošanu saistīto antropogēno faktoru mijiedarbības fona. Darbā tika izmantots Latvijas Nacionālā ilgtermiņa ekoloģiskā tīkla pētījumu programmas ietvaros iegūtais datu materiāls no LU Bioloģijas institūta datu bāzes. Are validation scales useful for Detecting Deliberately Faked Personality Tests? A study in incarcerated populations

Personality self-report questionnaires are frequently used in forensic settings to detect psychopathology, to predict recidivism, and to assess adaptability to life in prison. Although most personality questionnaires include validity or control scales, even with the scales most outcomes can be easily manipulated. The aim of this study is to analyze the utility of the control scales of the Situational Personality Questionnaire. A sample of 200 male prisoners was randomized into two groups. Both groups completed the SPQ as a part of the mandatory psychological assessment when they entered prison, and then again 8 months later. SAHA/TRAIL combination induces detachment and anoikis of MDA-MB231 and MCF-7 breast cancer cells

Abstract SAHA, an inhibitor of histone deacetylase activity, has been shown to sensitize tumor cells to apoptosis induced by TRAIL, a member of TNF-family. In this paper we investigated the effect of SAHA/TRAIL combination in two breast cancer cell lines, the ERα−positive MCF-7 and the ERα−negative MDA-MB231. Treatment of MDA-MB231 and MCF-7 cells with SAHA in combination with TRAIL caused detachment of cells followed by anoikis, a form of apoptosis which occurs after cell detachment, while treatment with SAHA or TRAIL alone did not produce these effects. Bioloģiskās terapijas ietekme uz medikamentozā pulmonīta risku limfomas pacientiem

Problēmas būtība. Medikamentozais pneimonīts limfomas pacientiem, ir reta, taču nopietna komplikācija ar augstu letalitātes risku. Vairākos pētījumos ir konstatēts, ka monoklonālas antivielas Rituksimaba pievienošana ķīmijterapijai pacientiem ar limfomas diagnozi ir saistīta ar lielāku risku medikamentozā pneimonīta attīstībai. Pētījuma mērķis. Līdz ar to šī darba galvenais mērķis ir secīgi aplūkot divas faktoru grupas – politiskos un sociālos - un to ietekmi uz Romas karaspēku. Darbam aktualitāti piešķir tas, ka nav veikti pētījumi, kuros vienlaikus tiek aplūkoti gan politiskie faktori, gan sociālie faktori un to ietekme uz Romas karaspēku. Professor Pauls Žibeiks usually is mentioned as professor of Old Testament. In my memories P. Žibeiks takes place of the professor of ancient languages, which he taught in the theological seminary. During the period of time 1987-1992 I was in close touch with the professor, first being his student in his classes of ancient languages in the seminary rooms in Jāņa street, and after, visiting him in Bauska with certain regularity. Here, professor's Pauls Žibeiks teaching method is briefly considered in context of language teaching methods in the Rīga Domskola, the Theological faculty of University of Latvia and the Lutheran theological seminary.
