Descrizione e desiderio sono i due poli entro cui s’inscrive l’esperienza che E. T. A. Hoffmann, uno dei massimi scrittori del fantastico ottocentesco, fa della pittura antica e moderna. Raffaello e Salvator Rosa, Bosch e Van Dyck, la pittura di paesaggio fiamminga e la pittura sacra italiana costituiscono il canone implicito della sua narrativa. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on pyrkiä ymmärtämään lähisuhdeväkivaltaan liittyviä haasteita ammattilaisten näkökulmasta. Tutkimukseni kohdistuu siihen, minkälaisia esteitä lähisuhdeväkivaltaa työssään kohdanneet ammattilaiset kertovat liittyvän lähisuhdeväkivalta-aiheen puheeksi ottamiseen. Tutkimuksessani selvitin puheeksi ottamisen vaikeutta ja etsin ammattilaisten tapoja selittää tätä. Valitsemaani aihetta perustelen sillä, että tätä näkökulmaa ei ole mielestäni riittävästi aiemmin tutkittu. The five factor model has been established as one of the main approaches in the study of personality. After its emergence, one of the most important aspects to be analyzed has been its relationship with self-esteem, considering the central role that the latest has in the model. Masteroppgave Sosiologi og sosialt arbeid ME522 - Universitetet i Agder 2017 Formålet med denne oppgaven er å få en forståelse for det emosjonelle arbeidet som frontlinjeansatte på nav utøver. Fokuset er å belyse både hvordan de opplever og hvordan de håndterer ulike situasjoner de kommer opp i. Oppgaven er basert på intervjuer og observasjoner av totalt 13 ansatte på et lokalt nav-kontor som arbeider tett med brukere innenfor ulike avdelinger. Med utgangspunkt i datamaterialet, analyseres innholdet først før det blir drøftet opp mot teori. Statistical Modeling of Huffman Tables Coding

An innovative algorithm for automatic generation of Huffman coding tables for semantic classes of digital images is presented. Collecting statistics over a large dataset of corresponding images, we generated Huffman tables for three images classes: landscape, portrait and document. Comparisons between the new tables and the JPEG standard coding tables, using also different quality settings, have shown the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in terms of final bit size (e.g. compression ratio).

Plantar flexor activation capacity and H reflex in older adults: adaptations to strength training.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the voluntary neural drive and the excitability of the reflex arc could be modulated by training, even in old age. To this aim, the effects of a 16-wk strengthening program on plantar flexor voluntary activation (VA) and on the maximum Hoffman reflex (Hmax)-to-maximum M wave (Mmax) ratio were investigated in 14 elderly men (65–80 yr). After training, isometric maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) increased by 18% ( P < 0.05) and weight-lifting ability by 24% ( P < 0.001).
