Input-Output Feedback Linearization Control of a Linear Induction Motor Taking Into Consideration Its Dynamic End-Effects and Iron Losses

2020

This article proposes a new input-output feedback linearization control (FLC) technique of linear induction motors (LIMs), taking into consideration both the dynamic end-effects and the iron losses. Starting from a previously conceived dynamic model, including the dynamic end-effects and the iron losses, all the theoretical framework of the FLC has been developed. The proposed FLC improves a previous version of FLC in accounting also the iron losses, which in LIMs with fixed-secondary sheet play a pivotal role more than in rotating induction motors (RIMs). The proposed FLC has been experimentally tested on a suitably developed test setup, and experimental comparisons between the proposed FL…

Clinical Use of κ Free Light Chains Index as a Screening Test for Multiple Sclerosis.

2020

Abstract Objective To assess the usefulness of the κ free light chain index (κFLCi) as a screening test to identify patients with suspected MS. Methods The study included 56 patients with a request to test for oligoclonal bands (OCBs). OCBs were detected by isoelectric focusing, followed by immunofixation. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum κFLC were measured by a turbidimetric assay. Also, the κFLC index (κFLCi) was calculated. Results CSF κFLC levels and κFLCi were significantly higher in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) than in patients with other neurological diseases (NDs; P < .001 and P < .001, respectively). At the cutoff value of 2.9, the κFLCi detected MS with s…

Lysosomal Signaling Licenses Embryonic Stem Cell Differentiation via Inactivation of Tfe3

2019

International audience; Self-renewal and differentiation of pluripotent murine embryonic stem cells (ESCs) is regulated by extrinsic signaling pathways. It is less clear whether cellular metabolism instructs developmental progression. In an unbiased genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screen, we identified components of a conserved amino-acid-sensing pathway as critical drivers of ESC differentiation. Functional analysis revealed that lysosome activity, the Ragulator protein complex, and the tumor-suppressor protein Folliculin enable the Rag GTPases C and D to bind and seclude the bHLH transcription factor Tfe3 in the cytoplasm. In contrast, ectopic nuclear Tfe3 represses specific developmental and met…

The role of serum free light chain as biomarker of Myasthenia Gravis

2022

Background and aim: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a B lymphocyte–mediated disease affecting neuromuscular transmission. The clinical course of MG is unpredictable due to the fluctuating nature and heterogeneity of the disease. Increased levels of free light chains (FLC), which reflect B cell activation, have been detected in different autoimmune disorders. In this study, we evaluated the potential role of FLC as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of MG. Materials and methods: 74 MG patients and 52 healthy individuals were included in the study. Serum FLC levels were measured by turbidimetric assay (Freelite, The Binding Site Group Ltd) on the Optilite Analyser System in both groups. In MG pat…

Control of a fermentator for the aerobic growth of saccharomyces cerevisiae by an adaptive type-2 fuzzy logic controller

2008

Adaptive Feedback Linearization Control of SynRM Drives With On-Line Inductance Estimation

2023

This article proposes an adaptive input-output Feedback Linearization Control ( FLC ) techniques for Synchronous Reluctance Motor ( SynRM ) drives, taking into consideration the iron losses. As a main original content, this work proposes a control law based on a new dynamic model of the SynRM including iron losses as well as the on-line estimation of the static inductances. The on-line estimation of the SynRM static inductances permits to inherently take into consideration the magnetic saturation phenomena occuring on both axes. As a major result, it permits a null stator current steady state tracking error even with a proportional derivative controller. The estimation law is obtained thank…

Drāmas paņēmieni angļu valodas runāšanas trauksmes mazināšanai 6. klasē

2016

FRUIT INHIBITS FLOWERING IN ALTERNATE BEARING CITRUS VARIETIES. HORMONAL, GENETIC AND EPIGENETIC REGULATION

In mature citrus trees, flowering is regulated by exogenous signals (i.e., low/high temperature, water shortage/water supply) that control flowering time, and by endogenous signals that control flower intensity. Actually, the ratio of endogenous promoters to inhibitors is considered as responsible for flowering; however, there is evidence suggesting that the inhibitors and their metabolism are the sole factors controlling flowering in Citrus. All the meristems have the information and ability to flower unless a negative factor hampers the process. The main endogenous factor controlling flower intensity is the fruit. Attending to the aforementioned, in this PhD. thesis, the following hypothe…

Foreign language anxiety : the case of young learners of English in Swedish primary classrooms

2019

Although foreign language anxiety is a widely studied construct assumed to develop from negative experiences of language instruction, few researchers have focused on young learners in this regard. This multiple case study investigates levels and triggers of language anxiety in Swedish primary classrooms under rather favorable learning conditions with a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere, and without formal knowledge requirements or grades. A total of 225 learners, aged 8–12, studying English as their first foreign language completed a self-report questionnaire, a modified version of the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (Horwitz, Horwitz, & Cope, 1986), eliciting learners’ reacti…
