The exhibition is just the beginning
2020
Aim. The aim of this work is to present a qualitative analysis of the creative educational materials prepared by preservice teachers in the context of an educational experience around a museum exhibition about Science and Literature, described in a previous work (Authors, 2020). The responses to a final questionnaire about interdisciplinarity, integration of Sciences and Arts or the use of museums for children’s education are also analysed.
Methods. The participants were 121 alumni of two different subjects “Natural Sciences for teachers” and “Literary training for teachers” at a Spanish university. Preservice teachers had to select an item of the museum exhibition and, as a group, pr…

Experience management as an innovative approach in emerging Mediterranean destinations
2019
Abstract Recent experience-centric management theory stresses the quality of the interaction between the consumer and the company as the key contributor to the creation of value. The theory follows that understanding tourists' quality of service experience (QSE) is crucial if tourism managers are to effectively support the value cocreation experience. This study examines the impact of QSE on destination image, as well as the impact of these variables on positive word-of-mouth and revisit intentions. The hypotheses are tested with data from a convenience sample of 1362 tourists who were surveyed in seven emerging Mediterranean destinations. Notably, the variable QSE is considered to be a for…

Administration, Scoring, and Reporting Scores
2013
This chapter covers administration, scoring, and reporting scores from language tests and examinations. Procedures typically used in major language examinations and small-scale classroom testing and assessment are both covered. It is argued that the administration, scoring, and reporting procedures are highly dependent on the purpose and stakes of the assessment. Selected national and international guidelines of good practice are reviewed to see what they have to say about these phases of the assessment process, and examples are given on how, for example, high stakes certification and achievement tests differ from teacher-based formative and diagnostic tests. The review considers how the sk…

Background Identifying psychological correlates of children’s physical activity intentions may signpost potentially modifiable targets for interventions aimed at promoting physical activity participation. School recess and leisure-time outside of school are appropriate contexts in which such interventions may be delivered. However, few studies have identified correlates of physical activity intentions in these environments. Examining correlates in these contexts may provide formative evidence on which to base interventions to promote physical activity. Purpose The current study adopted an integrated theoretical model to test relations between motivational constructs from self-determination…
Peer-assessment using test exams in a Sakai-based e-learning platform
2021
We report our work on the implementation of a learning innovation based on the combination of peer-assessment and formative learning. The methodology consists on the students themselves to propose, review and select questions for the subsequent creation of a "multiple choice" exam to assess their progress. This learning innovation is carried out with a minimum intervention from the lecturer by using testing tools from the Sakai-based e-learning platform of our institution in combination with several software functions that have been created to automate the aggregation and processing of the students’ contributions. According to the feedback collected from the students, these learning tasks h…

A survey with 370 effective respondents was carried out. To measure the different concepts in the model, several scales were used based on literature p…

Ārtelpas video aktivitātes kā iekļaujošs mācību līdzeklis svešvalodu apguvē pusaudžiem
2015
