Simultaneous dissolution profiles of two drugs in pharmaceutical formulations by an FIA manifold

Abstract This article deals with the simultaneous determination of dissolution profiles of two drugs with overlapped spectra, present in the same pharmaceutical formulation. The official procedure for the dissolution profile is adapted to the continuous-flow methodology; the dissolution vessel is connected to an FIA manifold, in which the sample aliquots from the dissolution vessel are treated in order to adjust to the suitable pH and dilution degree to be monitored. The resulting solution is injected into the carrier stream, an acetic acid–acetate buffer at pH 4.3 and forced to the flow-cell of the spectrophotometer. Abstract Hydrogel wound dressings can play critical roles in wound healing protecting the wound from trauma or contamination and providing an ideal environment to support the growth of endogenous cells and promote wound closure. Preclinical models for colonic absorption, application to controlled release formulation development.

Oral controlled release (CR) formulations have many benefits and have become a valuable resource for the local and systemic administration of drugs. The most important characteristic of these pharmaceutical products is that drug absorption occurs mainly in the colon. Therefore, this review analyses the physiological and physicochemical features that may affect an orally administered CR product, as well as the different strategies to develop a CR dosage form and the methods used to evaluate the formulation efficacy. The models available to study the intestinal permeability and their applicability to colonic permeability determinations are also discussed.

A computational aeroelastic framework based on high-order structural models and high-fidelity aerodynamics

A computational framework for high-fidelity static aeroelastic analysis is presented. Aeroelastic analysis traditionally employs a beam stick representation for the structure and potential, inviscid and irrotational flow assumptions for the aerodynamics. The unique contribution of this work is the introduction of a high-order structural formulation coupled with a high-fidelity method for the aerodynamics. ViziQuer: A Visual Notation for RDF Data Analysis Queries

Visual SPARQL query notations aim at easing the RDF data querying task. At the current state of the art there is still no generally accepted visual graph-based notation suitable to describe RDF data analysis queries that involve aggregation and subqueries. In this paper we present a visual diagram-centered notation for SPARQL select query formulation, capable to handle aggregate/statistics queries and hierarchic queries with subquery structure. The notation is supported by a web-based prototype tool. We present the notation examples, describe its syntax and semantics and describe studies with possible end users, involving both IT and medicine students.

Path Integral approach via Laplace’s method of integration for nonstationary response of nonlinear systems

In this paper the nonstationary response of a class of nonlinear systems subject to broad-band stochastic excitations is examined. A version of the Path Integral (PI) approach is developed for determining the evolution of the response probability density function (PDF). Specifically, the PI approach, utilized for evaluating the response PDF in short time steps based on the Chapman–Kolmogorov equation, is here employed in conjunction with the Laplace’s method of integration. Anharmonicity deformation and curvature in supersymmetric potentials

An algebraic description of the class of 1D supersymmetric shape invariant potentials is investigated in terms of the shape-invariant-potential (SIP) deformed algebra, the generators of which act both on the dynamical variable and on the parameters of the potentials. The phase space geometry associated with SIP's is studied by means of a coherent state (SIP-CS) path integral and the ray metric of the SIP-CS manifold.
