Co-développement d'un modèle d'aide à la décision pour la gestion intégrée de la flore adventice. Méta-modélisation et analyse de sensibilité d'un mo…

The main threat to agricultural crops are weeds with herbicides being the primary cropping management practice. Due to the negative impact of herbicides on health and environment, their use must be reduced. To replace herbicides, numerous cropping practices need to be implemented. This makes weed management more complicated and, together with necessity of scheduling operations at long-term and the multiplicity of cropping system impacts, explains why models are so useful for designing innovative cropping systems. The aim of this thesis was to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) intended for crop advisors to help design cropping systems that are less dependent on herbicides. Our approach…

Minéralité du vin: représentations mentales de consommateurs suisses et français
2014
Minerality in wines: mental expectations of Swiss and French consumers Today the concept of minerality in wines is omnipresent. It appears in marketing discourses, in oenological critics and commercial communication. However, there is no common agreement on a general definition. This paper aims to study the different expectations that Swiss and French consumers have about minerality. The multidimensionality of the term is reflected through stereotypes like the odor of flint, the impression of "sucking a stone", or referring to acidity or to the Terroir. Thus, the term minerality appears as a unstable concept and providing a precise definition remains consequently difficult for many consumer…

Healthcare trajectory mining by combining multidimensional component and itemsets
2012
Sequential pattern mining is aimed at extracting correlations among temporal data. Many different methods were proposed to either enumerate sequences of set valued data (i.e., itemsets) or sequences containing multidimensional items. However, in real-world scenarios, data sequences are described as events of both multidimensional items and set valued information. These rich heterogeneous descriptions cannot be exploited by traditional approaches. For example, in healthcare domain, hospitalizations are defined as sequences of multi-dimensional attributes (e.g. Hospital or Diagnosis) associated with two sets, set of medical procedures (e.g. $ \lbrace $ Radiography, Appendectomy $\rbrace$) and…

Contribution of virtual reality to functional rehabilitation
2010
Virtual reality has grown immensely. Practical applications for the use of this technology encompass many fields in both engineering science and human science. In the field of medicine, one of the newest fields to benefit from the advances in VR technology, virtual reality has become a major new therapeutic tool not only in medicine and surgery but also for the treatment of psychological disorders and rehabilitation for impaired person. Our research presented in this thesis aims at developing utilities to aid in functional rehabilitation using virtual reality technology. The main research question of our work concerns the effect of virtual metaphors in learning and training human gestures f…
