Develop of Innovation for Overall Successful Learning
2013
Innovation has many forms and thus many ways of being acquired. Restricted by time and space, our aim here is limited to showing some of the ways to develop of innovation in learning. We suppose that certain skills are efficient in reaching this goal such as modeling, situation management, operational control, teamwork, appropriate orientation and that, in addition, certain personal or social factors like motivation also play a role. We try to provide a theoretical conceptual basis for designing guidelines for innovative learning and provide a foundation for its continued development. We believe that it is crucial to establish reference methods to strengthen the relationship between innovat…
Environmentally appraising different pavement and construction scenarios: A comparative analysis for a typical local road
2015
Abstract The aim of this work is to carry out a comparative analysis of environmental impacts for different scenarios of a typical local road. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the modeling tool used to quantify and characterize comparative environmental impacts. In carrying out this specific application of the LCA, different road construction techniques were considered with regards to the whole structure and compared in order to identify the best alternative in terms of environmental sustainability. So far, in fact, typical LCA frameworks of roads have focused on recycled materials for pavement layers only, thus neglecting study of the materials used in the embankment or in the subgrade. In t…
A finite/infinite element analysis of thick plate on a layered foundation
2000
Abstract The algorithm of calculations of a thick plate on the Kolar–Nemec's subsoil by the finite/infinite element method is presented. The layered subsoil numerical implementation different from that given by Kolar and Nemec is proposed. The advantages of employing the proposed algorithm to the solutions of plates on layered foundation are then illustrated by numerical example.
A New Stone on an Ancient Foundation: Traditional Liturgical Aspects in Taizé Order of Prayer
2019
Abstract During the 20th Century, the Taizé Community created a unique liturgical tradition, combining Byzantine and Latin liturgical elements with Protestant background worship. The combination of these liturgical elements concurred with the rediscovery of the old Tradition of the Church and with the entrance of a considerable number of Catholic brothers into the Taizé community. The high point of this reconsidered Tradition is the introduction of the weekly Sunday Eucharist using the Taizé liturgical order. Nonetheless, the Community maintains a Eucharistic discipline and tries to avoid intercommunion. The combination of different traditional liturgical elements on a traditional Protestan…
A CAN Fieldbus Based Architecture for Distributed Control Systems Implementation
2003
Abstract The application of distributed systems theory to the implementation of industrial control systems is one of the best options to develop simple, scalable and physically distributed control systems. Following this line, our group has proposed a new architecture based on Rule Nets (RN) as an HLP over CAN fieldbus for the implementation of Distributed Systems. This architecture has been applied to several control applications, obtaining excellent results. The most outstanding feature of the architecture was its simplicity in the control systems design, without any efficiency loss. New capabilities have been added to improve its features and develop new analysis tools, in order to incre…
New venture creation : a systematic review of associated literature
2020
Ethical Entrepreneurship Training. Theoretical Reflection and Case Analysis
2014
Abstract In this paper we first reflect on the theoretical foundation of ethical entrepreneurship training in the field of economy. In this sense, we try to establish briefly the theoretical and historical assumptions of ethical entrepreneurship, especially from a review of the work of Adam Smith, professor of Moral Philosophy and central figure in the birth of the modern economy. We then present a definition of entrepreneurial activity, which is closely linked to a social and ethical dimension of economy and to the internal goods of economic activity. On the basis of these considerations, we propose some objectives of training for ethical entrepreneurship. Finally, we present a case study …
Une quête d'exactitude : machines, algèbre et géométrie pour la construction traditionnelle des équations différentielles
2015
In La Géométrie, Descartes proposed a “balance” between geometric constructions and symbolic manipulation with the introduction of suitable ideal machines. In particular, Cartesian tools were polynomial algebra (analysis) and a class of diagrammatic constructions (synthesis). This setting provided a classification of curves, according to which only the algebraic ones were considered “purely geometrical.” This limit was overcome with a general method by Newton and Leibniz introducing the infinity in the analytical part, whereas the synthetic perspective gradually lost importance with respect to the analytical one—geometry became a mean of visualization, no longer of construction. Descartes’s…
The Psychological Foundations of Management in Family Firms: Values, Biases, and Heuristics
2021
Considering the heterogeneity of family firm behaviors as reflecting the values, biases, and heuristics of individuals, we discuss the implications of the psychological foundations of management in family firms. We develop a conceptual framework for investigating how the values, biases, and heuristics of family and nonfamily members affect strategic decision-making and the outcomes of family firms. To advance the field, we put forward some relevant questions and offer a future research agenda at the intersection of the psychological foundations of management and family business.
On the Review of structure and effectiveness of the IFRS Foundation : the EAAs Financial Reporting Standards Committees view
2016
AbstractIn July 2015 the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation launched its third five year review of its structure and effectiveness of the organisation. In a public call, the Trustees solicited stakeholders’ input on the relevance of IFRS Standards with respect to broadening the IFRS scope and to the impact of new technology, on the consistent application of IFRS and on the governance and funding of the International Accounting Standards Board and the IFRS Foundation. The European Accounting Association (EAA)’s Financial Reporting Standards Committee responded to this request for views by submitting a comment letter based on research-informed opinions. This article…
