Achlya spiralis, a new aquatic oomycete with bent oogonial stalks, isolated from the Burgundian region of France

Achlya spiralis sp. nov. was isolated from water samples collected in the river Tille in the Burgundian region of France. The new oomycete is described, illustrated and compared with related species of the genus Achlya. It is characterized by the presence of smooth-walled oogonia that are usually borne on bent or twisted oogonial stalks; mainly monoclinous, androgynous and diclinous antheridial branches and eccentric oospores which generally do not mature or mature after a long period of time. The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of its rRNA is comprised of 671 bases. The economic crisis provides a unique chance to argue that a post-contentious turning point is emerging in spite of a long-standing tradition of protesting. This evaluation is based on a longitudinal survey carried out over two years concerning 1 500 pupils who started secondary school. Some of them were initiated in English in the last two grades of Primary school (experimentation launched by the Ministry of Education), the other pupils had started learning English at Secondary School. Two kinds of results were obtained : first, we described a certain number of factors that influence pupils' acquisitions in English ; second, we tried to show the extent to which the outcome of early initiation explains the differences between pupils during the secondary school. L'Observatoire régional de l'emploi et de la formation (OREF) de Bourgogne a été sollicité en 1995 pour participer à l'élaboration des contrats d'objectifs professionnels. Cette note retrace les grandes lignes de cette contribution et souligne la non-existence d'une méthodologie type, face à la complexité de la relation formation-emploi.
