2019
Private and professional lives among primary teachers: how they prioritize? Being a teacher in primary school seems far from allowing the articulation of work and private life in such a comfortable manner as seen in collective beliefs. In order to deconstruct the belief considering teachers as privileged, this contribution proposes, based on empirical results (an online survey with 21,642 responses), to report, first, how primary teachers prioritize their private or professional lives. Second, this paper highlights the reasons which lead them to favour one of the two fields, notably when priority is given to private life at the expense of professional life. Referring to the issue of work-fa…

Bias correction of dynamically downscaled precipitation to compute soil water deficit for explaining year-to-year variation of tree growth over north…
2017
This paper documents the accuracy of a post-correction method applied to precipitation regionalized by the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Regional Climate Model (RCM) for improving simulated rainfall and feeding impact studies. The WRF simulation covers Burgundy (northeastern France) at a 8-km resolution and over a 20-year long period (1989–2008). Previous results show a strong deficiency of the WRF model for simulating precipitation, especially when convective processes are involved. In order to reduce such biases, a Quantile Mapping (QM) method is applied to WRF-simulated precipitation using the mesoscale atmospheric analyses system SAFRAN («Système d'Analyse Fournissant des Rense…
Temperature interpolation by local information ; the example of France
2010
International audience; Methods of interpolation, whether based on regressions or on kriging, are global methods in which all the available data for a given study area are used. But the quality of results is affected when the study area is spatially very heterogeneous. To overcome this difficulty, a method of local interpolation is proposed and tested here with temperature in France. Starting from a set of weather stations spread across the country and digitized as 250 m-sided cells, the method consists in modelling local spatial variations in temperature by considering each point of the grid and the n weather stations that are its nearest neighbours. The procedure entails a series of steps…
Investigating the influence of climate changes on rodent communities at a regional-scale (MIS 1-3, southwestern France).
2016
25 pages; International audience; Terrestrial ecosystems have continuously evolved throughout the Late Pleistocene and theHolocene, deeply affected by both progressive environmental and climatic modifications, aswell as by abrupt and large climatic changes such as the Heinrich or Dansgaard-Oeschgerevents. Yet, the impacts of these different events on terrestrial mammalian communities arepoorly known, as is the role played by potential refugia on geographical species distributions. This study examines community changes in rodents of southwestern France between50 and 10 ky BP by integrating 94 dated faunal assemblages coming from 37 archaeologicalsites. This work reveals that faunal distributi…

2006
This paper aims at comparing individual and regional factors of young people's migrations. Especially these linked with French High Education ; entering University, students in training and graduates integrating labour market. Do they mirgrate the same way ? Do regions influence the way they migrate ? Do individual and social factors interfere in the same way ? This paper aims at answering all these questions.
