a new shape for microwave planar circuits using the self-similarity of the fractal geometry is presented. This new shape allows the generation of numerous resonant frequencies for this microwave planar resonator due to the surfaces encasilng. The resonant frequency assessment can be useful to concept specific filters or wide frequency band matching loads as examples, without consuming circuit surface.

The electroretinogram is the record of the electrical response of the retina to a light stimulus. The two main components are the a-wave and the b-wave, the former is related to the early photoreceptoral activity. Aim of this paper is to acquire useful information about the time-frequency features of the human a-wave, by means of the wavelet analysis. This represents a proper approach in dealing with nonstationary signals. We have used the Mexican Hat as mother wavelet. Abstract As evidenced by many physiological and psychophysical reports, the receptive fields of the first-stage set of mechanisms of the visual process fit to two-dimensional (2D) compactly supported harmonic functions. The application of this set of band-pass filter functions to the input signal implies that the visual system carries out some kind of conjoint space/spatial frequency transform. Abstract Recent simulations demonstrated that the inhomogeneous broadening as observed in the vibrational spectra of liquid water at ambient conditions can be viewed as a large vibrational splitting of symmetric and asymmetric OH stretching modes, due to the asymmetry of the local hydrogen-bonding network [J. Phys. Chem. Lett., 2013, 4(19), pp 3245–3250]. In this work, we show that the finite temperature and the liquid phase do not only modulate the local hydrogen-bonding asymmetry of water molecules, but also the intramolecular coupling strength. International audience; The state-space method is adapted to obtain three dimensional exact solutions for the static and damped dynamic behaviors of simply supported general laminates. The state-space method is written in a general form that permits to handle both cross-ply and antisymmetric angle-ply laminates. This general form also permits to obtain exact solutions for general laminates, albeit with some constraints.
