High-resolution seismic data acquired along the continental shelf/upper slope offshore of Capo Vaticano (western Calabria), Milazzo Promontory and Mt. Etna (eastern Sicily) allow to provide new insights on vertical mobility related to active tectonics. A number of depositional sequences bounded by unconformities or correlative para-conformities were recognized on Sparker profiles in the first 200-300 m below the sea-floor. The present article focuses on Polish motifs in Sofya Kovalevskaya’s recollections. Kovalevskaya was a great 19th century Russian mathematician whose contributions were acknowledged throughout Europę during her lifetime. She was the first European woman to receive a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Gottingen, a professor at Stockholm University in Sweden, and the first female corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Besides her scientific activities, Kovalevskaya was also a writer and publicist. She is the author of a number of novels, poems, a play and autobiographical Recollections of Childhood. Z kulinariami związanych jest wiele różnorodnych przesądów. W kuchni polskiej znajduje się mnóstwo składników żywieniowych, których spożywanie na przestrzeni wieków obrosło wieloma wierzeniami. W niniejszym artykule omówiono zachowania przesądne dotyczące wybranych składników żywnościowych (chleba, kapusty, ziemniaków, cukru) oraz rekwizytów kuchennych (garnków i sztućców). Zaprezentowane materiały pochodzą z dwóch źródeł: zastanych (opracowań etnograficznych wydanych przed 1945 r.) i wywołanych (zebranych podczas wywiadów prowadzonych w 2015 r. w obrębie dwóch województw - śląskiego i opolskiego).
Practice for determining friction in hydraulic winch systems

This paper presents a method for estimating friction in hydraulic active heave compensated (AHC) offshore winches. The method is a two-step approach where the first step is to model the friction loss in the hydraulic motors based on data from the sub-supplier. The second step requires real-life testing, where the remaining friction losses in the winch system is identified and modeled. In this context, a practice is characterized by obtaining a friction loss estimation with the highest possible accuracy over the widest possible range of operating conditions with a limited amount of experimental work. LĢIA LiDAR digitālā reljefa modeļa kvalitātes novērtēšana

Bakalaura darbā ir pētīts pasaulē un Latvijā aktuāls jautājums par digitālo reljefa modeļu (DEM) kvalitāti, kas tiek iegūti no LiDAR datiem. Pasaulē ir daudzi pētījumi par faktoriem, kas ietekmē DEM kvalitāti. Pētījums ir nozīmīgs tāpēc, ka Latvijas Ģeotelpiskās informācijas aģentūra (LĢIA) 2013. gadā ir uzsākusi vienlaidus Latvijas aerolāzerskenēšanu un no iegūtiem datiem tiek veidots jauns DEM, kura kvalitāte ir svarīga daudzām jomām. Pētījuma mērķis ir novērtēt LĢIA LiDAR digitālā reljefa modeļa kvalitāti, izmantojot augstākas vai līdzīgas precizitātes datus – lauka mērījumus un augstas detalizācijas topogrāfisko informāciju. Bakalaura darbā „Ezeru sateces baseinu reljefa un nogulumu ietekme uz sapropeļu veidošanos Rietumkursas augstienes dienvidu daļā” ir pētītas sapropeļa iegulas piecos Rietumkursas augstienes ezeros un novērtēts, kā to uzkrāšanos ietekmējis ezeru novietojumu reljefā. Darba praktiskajā daļā katrām ezeram sagatavoti kartogrāfiskie materiāli ar sateces baseina reljefu, ezera novietojumu reljefā un sapropeļa veidiem, kas ļauj secināt, ka sapropeļa sastāvu un īpašības dažādās atradnēs nosaka sateces baseina reljefa īpatnības un sateces baseina nogulumu sastāvs.

Bakalaura darbā “Piekrastes reljefa antropogēnās slodzes monitorings ar fotogrammetrijas metodi” tika veikts pētījums par antropogēnās slodzes ietekmi uz krasta zonas reljefu, kas atrodas Piejūras zemienes teritorijā. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt antropogēnās slodzes ietekmi uz krasta zonas ģeomorfoloģiju un to veģetācijas segumu, izmantojot fotogrammetrijas Structure-from-Motion (SfM) metodi kombinācijā ar bezpilota lidaparātu. Bakalaura darba izstrādes procesā tika apskatīta un apkopota zinātniskā literatūra par pētāmās krasta zonas ģeomorfoloģiju, krasta zonu pastāvēšanu antropogēnās slodzes ietekmē, kā arī tiek apkopota literatūra par tālizpētes metodēm. Devona Katlešu svītas mālaino nogulumu slāņkopas uzbūve un sastāvs Kupravas atradnē

Bakalaura darbā raksturots Kupravas atradnē sastopamie Katlešu svītas mālaino nogulumu granulometriskais un minerālais sastāvs, kā arī to ģeoloģiskā griezuma uzbūve. Pētāmajā teritorijā veikti lauka darbi, ievākti kopumā 43 paraugi no 1 atseguma un 1 urbuma. Tiem veikta granulometriskā analīze, izmantojot sedigrāfu un hidrometru, kā arī minerāla sastāva analīze, izmantojot XRD metodi. Noskaidrots, ka visos pētītajos nogulumos ir relatīvi augsta <0,001 mm daļiņu proporcija (vidēji 49%), un ir ļoti augsts frakcijas <0,005 mm saturs (vidēji 73%). Frakcijas <0,001 mm īpatsvars frakcijā <0,005 mm vidēji ir 68%, bet tīros mālos 58-70%, kas neatbilst iepriekšējo pētījumu rezultātiem. Pētītajos nog…
