Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the religious pattern and its impact on symptom expression in patients with advanced cancer. Methods: A consecutive sample of advanced cancer patients screened at admission to palliative care. Standard epidemiological data were recorded. Patients were asked about their religious beliefs, the degree of social relationship to existing religions, the role of religion in their life, and the frequency of their prayer. The last years have seen a growing interest in underwater acoustic communications because of its applications in marine research, oceanography, marine commercial operations, the offshore oil industry and defense. High-speed communication in the underwater acoustic channel has been challenging because of limited bandwidth, extended multipath, refractive properties of the medium, severe fading, rapid time variation and large Doppler shifts. We aimed at exploring factors associated with the probability for a) drop out of study and b) death during follow-up. Tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää mitä oppimateriaaleja ruotsinopettajat käyttävät suomenkielisissä steinerkouluissa ala- ja yläkoulussa ja kuinka steinerpedagogiikka vaikuttaa oppimateriaalien valintaan. Tutkimuksella pyrittiin selvittämään myös miten steinerkouluissa käytössä oleva vihkotyöskentely tapahtuu ja millaisia ajatuksia opettajilla on siitä. Tutkimukseen osallistui 10 steinerkoulun ruotsinopettajaa, jotka vastasivat kyselyyn nettilomakkeella. Kysely alkoi neljällä taustatietoja kartoittavalla kysymyksellä, joita seurasi viisi opettajien käyttämien materiaaleihin liittyvää kysymystä. Kysymykset 7-9 koskivat vihkotyöskentelyä. Darba pirmajā nodaļā tiek analizētas dažādu pedagogu un psihologu atziņas par matemātisko spēju attīstību un tās veicinātājiem. Otrajā nodaļā tiek aprakstīta Valdorfskolas būtība, tās pamatprincipi, mācīšanas specifika. Trešajā nodaļā tiek pētītas skolēnu vecumposma īpatnības saistībā ar pētāmo problēmu.
