The Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has declared the moral liceity of hysterectomy when certain medical criteria are met but does not exclude other options, “for example, recourse to infertile periods or total abstinence.” Consequently, there may be couples who prefer to use natural family planning (NFP) methods. Jej wątkiem wiodącym było przywrócenie pokoju i zgody u zwaśnionych stron we wspólnocie kościelnej Nazjanzu. This paper is an attempt to indicate the reasons why a theologian should be interested in other sciences. The openness of the Church towards science is a relevant issue for Christian faith. Its justification today is in a climate of scientific thinking, in which scientific tools of recognising of the world, as well as the scientific picture of the world play an important role. This article will demonstrate the following: 1) the ecclesial reason; 2) the educational reason; (3) the anthropological reason; (4) the ecological reason;(5) the scientifical reason; (6) the kerygmatic-pastoral reason.
Are Virtues Shaped by National Cultures or Religions?

The present paper examines the relative influence of religion and nation on conceptions of virtues. In a first study, conducted in the Netherlands, 926 respondents of different profession, age, sex, and religious background rank ordered a list of 15 virtues. A comparison of Dutch Muslims and non-Muslims showed a remarkably high resemblance in their ratings of virtues. Only faith was rated as being much more important by Muslims than by non-Muslims. In the second study, the influence of national cultures was examined. Dla rozwoju ruchu ekumenicznego potrzeba modeli określających możliwości jednoczenia się chrześcijan. Dialogi ekumeniczne pokazują, że w prawie każdym Kościele chrześcijańskim wyobrażenia o jedności są różne. Z problemem braku jednej wizji jedności łączy się drugi – brak jednego pojęcia Kościoła, a przynajmniej brak takiego jego rozumienia, które byłoby akceptowane przez wszystkich chrześcijan. Trzeci problem związany jest z dwoma poprzednimi i dotyczy ekumenicznej hermeneutyki, która jest uzależniona od różnych eklezjalnych modeli jedności.
