Here, a novel strategy of formulating efficient polymeric carriers based on the already described INU-IMI-DETA for gene material whose structural, functional, and biological properties can be modulated and improved was successfully investigated. Celem opracowania jest wskazanie na rolę instytucji w kreowaniu lokalnych (regionalnych) biobiznesów. Lokalne biobiznesy opierają się na unikatowym wykorzystaniu zarówno standardowych, jak i specyficznych zasobów terytoriów, w których są zakładane. Analizę przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem trzech wymiarów transformacji europejskiego modelu rolnictwa: regulacji środowiskowych, dyfuzji wiedzy i informacji oraz powiązań międzyorganizacyjnych i społecznych. In this work we prepared colloidal CdSe-CdS core-shell nanocrystal emitting @625 nm and, by a micro-emulsion procedure of water in oil inverse micelle, we encapsulated a single dot inside each silica sphere. In this way the nanoparticles became biocompatible, are simply to prepare and could be used also in a water based environment. Moreover, the silica shield is transparent to the wavelengths of interest.

Pacientu informētība par ērču encefalītu un profilaktisko terapijas iespējām Latvijā

Ērču encefalīts (ĒE) mūsdienās ir plaši pazīstama vīrusinfekcija. ĒE ir infekcijas slimība, ko cilvēkam pārnes Ixodes tipa ērces. Latvijā par endēmiskiem ir atzīti 22 novadi, tādēļ ir liels risks inficēties ar ĒE. Līdz ar to iedzīvotāju informētība par ĒE un profilaktisko terapijas iespējām ir aktuāla un svarīga. Darba mērķis bija sociālās aptaujas ietvaros uzzināt un novērtēt Latvijas iedzīvotāju informētību par ĒE vīrusinfekciju un to profilaktisko terapijas iespējām Latvijā. Iegūtie dati reprezentēja, ka kopējais Latvijas iedzīvotāju informētības līmenis par ĒE ir augsts, un cilvēkiem ir pieejama informācija par profilaktisko terapiju iespējām. Soil erosion by water is a natural process that cannot be avoided. Soil erosion depends on many factors, and a distinction should be made between humanly unchangeable (e.g., rainfall) and modifiable (e.g., length of the field) soil erosion factors. Soil erosion has both on-site and off-site effects. Soil conservation tries to combine modifiable factors so as to maintain erosion in an area of interest to an acceptable level. Strategies to control soil erosion have to be adapted to the desired land use.
