Amazon's initiative transforming a non-contact society : Digital disruption leads the way to stakeholder capitalization

2021

Contrary to the decisive role of R&D centered on information and communication technology (ICT) in the digital economy, its excessive expansion has resulted in declining productivity due to the two-faced nature of ICT. Consequently, the novel concept emerges of innovation that maintains sustainable growth by harnessing the vigor of soft innovation resources (SIRs). Pioneering endeavors can be observed at the forefront of the global ICT leaders. World R&D leader Amazon has been harnessing the power of users that seek SIRs. This functions as a virtuous cycle, leading to the transformation of R&D by fusing a unique R&D system with a sophisticated financing system. With this orchestration, Amaz…

Tube Housing Leakiness Radiation and Patient Related Radiation Protective Measures – Gonads Radiation Exposure from Panoramic Radiography

2009

The purpose of this study was to compare patient- and apparatus related radiation protective measures considering gonad radiation exposure at panoramic radiography. The local dose (yGv) in the region of the gonads of a male Alderson-Rando-Phantom was measured by the dosimeter Tol-F (Berthold Technology, Germany) during panoramic radiography (PR) by the digital Orthophos XG plus®(Sirona / Bensheim, Germany). Different radiation protective measures was investigated during constant exposure parameters. In the second part of the survey the same ionisation chamber recorded the scattered radiation at the gonads level of the none protected phantom at various case shielding. Without protection apro…

Effects of Personal Traits on Generation Y Consumers' Attitudes Toward the Use of Mobile Devices for Communication and Commerce

2012

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of young adult consumers’ personal traits (high-tech involvement, experiment proclivity, and fashion/brand leadership) on their perceptions of and attitudes toward using mobile devices for communications and commerce. The integrated stimulus-organism-responses paradigm (Fiore & Kim, 2007) served as the overarching framework, combining the uses and gratifications theory (Blumler & Katz, 1974) and the extended technology acceptance model (Kim, Ma, & Park, 2009). A convenience sample of 504 college students in 2 U. S. universities provided usable responses to our survey. Causal modeling analysis results showed that personal trait varia…

The aim is to examine farmer wives’ wealth in the villages of Karleby (Gamlakarleby socken) and the village of Nedervetil, which were part of the class society regulated by the Church Law of 1686 and the Swedish Civil Code enacted in 1734. The perspective of my research is microhistorical, which means that I study individual persons and phenomena in the villages of Gamlakarleby parish, and I mention the perso…

Hipster, preppy, girly... À propos des néologismes liés à la mode et de leur circulation en français et en tchèque

2018

The globalization, accelerating the language contact, facilitates greatly the circulation of neological expressions in unrelated languages. One of the areas with a significantly higher occurrence of neologisms is that of fashion and style. New words such as hipster, preppy and girly spread quickly in the Anglo-American culture and also invade the languages that this culture is in contact with, including French and Czech. Since this lexical field has not been studied in a comparative way, we decided to describe certain words related to the style in the two respective languages. Using a corpus based on our own knowledge of the topic and on the lexis found in the press, we try to describe the …

Roland Barthes. El sentido de la moda

2021

Roland Barthes devoted much of his intellectual interest to the phenomenon of fashion. Long before his famous Système de la Mode, he wrote numerous essays on the subject, mainly of a methodological nature, both to elaborate a coherent historiography of dress and to establish a semiology of dress itself, distinguishing –with Saussure– between costume (langue) and clothing (parole). Indeed, if dress is a heteroclite whole, like language for Saussure, the semiologist’s task is to reconstruct its functioning as a system of signs, not only in the dress described by the magazines (as he does in Système), but also in the dress actually worn. A set of essays, in short, of extreme importance for any…

Consumir la obra de terra. Los orígenes de la cerámica valenciana por el lado de la demanda (1283-1349)

2018

The origins of Valencian ceramic tableware, one of the most coveted products of the Late Middle Ages, have traditionally been explained from the supply perspective. The attention given to technological and stylistic–i.e. productive–aspects has tended to eclipse the issues that go beyond the objects themselves and affect the viewpoint of the consumer: to what extent was the demand for obra de terra by Valencian society key to the start of its production? This essay considers this matter using a sample of 232 probate inventories from between 1283 and 1349, to which will be applied quantitative analysis based on the historiography of consumption. It will be argued that, before the Black Death,…
