Today, migrants are a resource for the trade union, which is declining in membership and popularity, as it is for this category. The central function is still linked to services and information support. But the presence of new users to be protected and represented required a profound organisational and cultural transformation within the union, which has not yet been fully achieved throughout the country. The chapter analyses the data and reasons for migrants joining trade unions.

A partire da una riflessione sulle trasformazioni avvenute nel campo dei sistemi di welfare, il contributo propone un approfondimento sulle politiche pubbliche partecipative a livello locale, in chiave comparativa. All’interno del welfare mix, nel quale attori pubblici e privati concorrono a progettare ed attuare servizi nell’ambito delle comunità locali, diventa sempre più importante la condivisione di percorsi decisionali tra nodi di reti eterogenee. Conoscere il contesto socio-politico di scenario e le tecniche di policy making partecipativo consente all’educatore di assumere un ruolo centrale nei processi deliberativi, come facilitatore e costruttore di reti di relazioni.

L’indagine sul meetup palermitano è stata condotta attraverso interviste in profondità, faccia a faccia, a 10 attivisti e a un ex attivista espulso dal M5S . Le interviste hanno permesso di cominciare a delinearne organizzazione, strategie comunicative, attività, problemi attraversati nel tempo.
