AbstractPlant–pollinator interactions have a fundamental influence on flower evolution. Flower color signals are frequently tuned to the visual capabilities of important pollinators such as either bees or birds, but far less is known about whether flower shape influences the choices of pollinators. We tested European honeybee Apis mellifera preferences using novel achromatic (gray-scale) images of 12 insect-pollinated and 12 bird-pollinated native Australian flowers in Germany; thus, avoiding influences of color, odor, or prior experience. This presentation will document some results of an ongoing research focusing on the role of infrastructure in contemporary design practice. The methodology is based on critical design theory and combines theoretical aspects with a case-study approach, at the junction of infrastructure, urban design and architecture. It is already well documented that 19th and 20th century infrastructure have deeply affected their programs in order to face new challenges over the last 30 decades. L'auteur étudie la figure d'Arcangelo Michele Migliarini, peintre et archéologue, dont le parcours et la pensée sont emblématiques de la situation artistique et culturelle de Rome à la fin du 18e s. et au début du 19e siècle. Dans un premier temps, il reconstruit et contextualise les étapes de sa formation artistique et intellectuelle à Rome, puis il retrace son parcours et la façon dont il a réussi à s'imposer dans des institutions telles que l'Académie des beaux-arts ou la Galerie des Offices de Florence enfin il analyse les liens de Migliarini avec le marché de l'art et le collectionnisme. Il insiste sur le rôle de Migliarini dans le développement du classicisme au début du 19e siècle.

The Historiae Florentini populi by Poggio Bracciolini. Genesis and Fortune of an Alternative History of Florence

During the last years of his life, Poggio Bracciolini (1380-1459), former Apostolic Secretary and Chancellor of Florence, was working on a long text that he characterized, in a letter written in 1458, as lacking a well-defined structure. This was most probably his history of the people of Florence (Historiae Florentini populi, the title given in Jacopo’s dedication copy to Frederick of Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino), revised and published posthumously by Poggio’s son, Jacopo Bracciolini (1442-1478).
