The commemorative opportunity is only a circumstance that prompts to investigate the General Education Act (LGE) of 1970 fifty years after its approval. Another more essential reason invites its study: to investigate with new analyzes and new perspectives on what the LGE meant for the modernization of the country and for the transition between Franco's education and constitutional education. Majority and minority influence in inductive reasoning: A preliminary study

Ninety-three students were exposed to majority and minority influence in an inductive reasoning task. The former induced convergent thinking processes, though its effects were not reducible to mere compliance. The latter activated more divergent constructive processes, supporting the predictions of Conversion Theory.

Mobile learning (mLeaming) in formal education is getting wide spread but little is known about how to adopt mLeaming in non-formal contexts among smallholder farmer communities, who constitute the majority in most African states. These rely on agriculture, yet their livelihoods are affected by immense changes in seasons. Fluence Rate or Cumulative Dose? Vulnerability of Larval Northern Pike (Esox lucius) to Ultraviolet Radiation

Newly hatched larvae of northern pike were exposed in the laboratory to four fluence rates of ultraviolet radiation (UVR; 290-400 nm) over three different time periods, resulting in total doses ranging from 3.0 +/- 0.2 to 63.0 +/- 4.4 kJ.m(-2). Mortality and behavior of the larvae were followed for 8-12 days, and growth measured at the end of the experiment. Also, the principle of reciprocity-that the UVR-induced mortality depends on the cumulative dose, independent of fluence rate-was tested. Bimodal velocity distribution of atoms released from nanosecond ultraviolet laser ablation

We have investigated the velocity distributions of atoms released from a metallic gadolinium surface by UV laser ablation. The fluences of the nanosecond laser pulses were chosen for a pure release of neutrals and at a higher fluence level for the release of both neutrals and ions. In both cases a thermal Maxwell-Boltzmann slope has been observed for the low velocities, whereas for high velocities strong deviations from a thermal distribution have been seen. The observed velocity distribution has been explained by a bimodal structure including a thermal phase and a shockwave driven ``blow-off'' phase.

The Syntax–Pragmatics Interface in Heritage Languages: The Use of anche (“Also”) in German Heritage Speakers of Italian

This paper deals with the use of anche (“also”) by German heritage speakers of Italian (“IHSs”). Previous research showed that anche and its German counterpart auch share many features but also display language-specific characteristics. According to previous research on bilingualism, heritage speakers show cross-linguistic influence (“CLI”) when a linguistic phenomenon is at the syntax–pragmatics interface and there is a partial overlap in the two languages at stake. Therefore, we expect the use of anche in IHSs to be influenced by CLI. Invited to labour or participate : intra- and inter-generational distinctions and the role of capital in children’s invited participation

This paper applies aspects of Bourdieu’s conceptual toolkit related to capital, and analyses inter- and intra-generational relations of influence. Applying Bourdieu’s concepts to examples of case studies from a children’s parliament in Finland, and with reference to an adult resident forum, moments of continuity and disruption in the relatively stable patterns of distinction between children and adults emerge. Children in school councils (at times) are labourers for agendas set by teachers, but the children at the top of the structure’s hierarchy can benefit from cultural capital and a functional capital that enables them to set agendas and direct the work of others.
