Vegetation monitoring is a key issue in Earth Observation due to its relation with the global CO2 cycle. Chlorophyll fluorescence (ChF) emitted by the vegetation is an accurate indicator of the plant status and their photosynthetic activity. This work analyses the diurnal evolution of the ChF emission spectrum and the fluorescence yield in order to determine the best conditions for remote sensing of ChF from a satellite platform. The ChF evolution is studied at leaf level during several diurnal cycles, in simulated conditions, for two species under different stress conditions. The objective of this thesis is to develop a method based on the acquisition of excitation-emission matrices of fluorescence (EEMF) coupled with the use of fluorescence lifetime measurement in spectroscopy and microscopy (FLIM). The conventional methods for measuring the polarization of electron beams are either time consuming, invasive or accurate only to a few percent. We developped a method to measure electron beam polarization by observing the light emitted by argon atoms following their excitation by the impact of polarized electrons. The degree of circular polarization of the emitted fluorescence is directly related to the electron polarization. We tested the polarimeter on a test GaAs source available at the MAMI electron accelerator in Mainz, Germany. Abstract This paper reports an analytical study of enamel on fragments of medieval tiles using atomic spectroscopy techniques — AAS, XRF and SEM/EDX. The samples came from a hermitage in the region of Valencia (Spain) and have different motifs, mainly floral ones in a wide variety of colors. A study of the soluble salts in the biscuits and mortar was carried out using AAS to determine their present capacity to produce efflorescence and the type of efflorescence. XRF was used to identify the oxides responsible for the different colors and the pigments used over large areas of the tiles (white and green). Through-space charge transfer (CT) process is observed in Cu(I) carbene-metal-amide complexes, where conventional imidazole or imidazoline N-heterocyclic (NHC) carbene fragments act as inert linkers and CT proceeds between a metal-bound carbazole donor and a distantly situated carbene-bound phenylsulfonyl acceptor. The resulting electron transfer gives a rise to efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), characterized with high photoluminescence quantum yields (ΦPL up to 90 %) and radiative rates (kr) up to 3.32×105 s-1. In the Common woodlouse Porcellio scaber (Crustacea: Isopoda: Oniscidea), experimental immune challenge did not induce the expression of pro-phenoloxidase that, in most other invertebrates studied thus far, can be activated into phenoloxidase via an activation cascade upon immune challenge. Instead, Porcellio hemocyanin proved to exhibit catecholoxidase activity upon activation. Comparison of various liquid chromatographic methods for the analysis of avermectin residues in citrus fruits.

Abstract Various liquid chromatographic (LC) techniques for analyzing avermectin (Abamectin) were compared after extraction of residues from citrus fruit samples by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD). LC with UV and fluorescence detection were used as also was LC coupled to the mass spectrometer by an electrospray interface. The results obtained by the three methods were compared in terms of sensitivity and selectivity. The combination of MSPD extraction and LC with fluorescence detection have made it possible to quantify 0.5 μg kg −1 of Abamectin in 0.5 g of orange sample, with an overall average recovery of 94%.
