Local Distance and Dempster-Dhafer for Multi-Focus Image Fusion

This work proposes a new method of fusion image using Dempster-Shafer theory and local variability (DST-LV). This method takes into account the behaviour of each pixel with its neighbours. It consists in calculating the quadratic distance between the value of the pixel I (x, y) of each point and the value of all the neighbouring pixels. Local variability is used to determine the mass function defined in DempsterShafer theory. The two classes of Dempster-Shafer theory studied are : the fuzzy part and the focused part. The results of the proposed method are significantly better when comparing them to results of other methods.
TRANS-FUSIMO – A novel system for treatment support for FUS applications in moving abdominal organs

Computer based treatemnt support for FUS therapy of moviving abdominal organs is essential due to great intrinsic challenges: the target moves due to breathing and may be occluded by the rib cage. In the EU project TRANS-FUSIMO we have developed a sophisticated software system that connects to a FUS transducer and an MRI. This enables physicians to conduct safe, effective and efficient ablation of tumors in the moving liver.

Our eyes project information from a three-dimensional world to a basically two-dimensional surface, corresponding to the photoreceptor plane in the retina. In theory, only one plane or surface of world can be in focus at one time. However, the eye exhibits a certain tolerance to out-of-focus images, a feature that is known as depth-of-focus (DOF). The corresponding distance range in which the objects are seen “clearly” is known as depth-of-field (DOFi). Este estudio se centra en analizar las opiniones de los adolescentes sobre los beneficios que para ellos supone participar en experiencias teatrales. Se han identificado a partir de seis grupos foco, con una muestra de 53 participantes, de entre 12 y 20 años. Three artists in exile focuses on the historical diaspora provoked by the Spanish civil war (1936- 1939), and how it influenced three prominent figures of the cultural scene of that period: the writer and typographer Max Aub Mohrenwitz (Paris, 1903-Ciudad de Mexico, 1972); the architect Félix Candela Outeriño (Madrid, 1910-Raleigh, US, 1977); and the artist Josep Renau Berenguer (Valencia, 1907-Berlín, 1982).
