Background There is a paucity of data on fertility or pregnancy in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). Objective To assess fertility in PSC by comparing the number of children in a large cohort of PSC patients to healthy controls and to investigate the outcome of pregnancy, as well as the influence of pregnancy on the disease course. A sample of 60 Spanish schizophrenic patients was studied to ascertain the relationship between their relatives' expressed emotion (EE) and relapse at follow-up. The relatives' EE and patients' relapse were operationalised following Leff & Vaughn's criteria. At nine months a significant association was not found between the relatives' EE and relapse, but this association became significant on reclassifying the relatives' EE scores after decreasing to four points the cut-off point for critical comments. When impacted maxillary canines are not amenable to orthodontic traction or reimplantation, extraction is the only option available, followed by implant placement. If apical and ridge crest bone remains after the extraction of the maxillary canines, an immediate implant can be placed. The implant is anchored bicortically with good primary fixation. The expression and prognostic role of cyclin D1, cyclin E, and p21 (WAF1/CIP1) were immunohistochemically investigated in 413 curatively resected gastric carcinomas. p21 was expressed in 65.4 per cent (n=270), cyclin D1 in 23.7 per cent (n=98), and cyclin E in 13.6 per cent ( n=56) of the tumours. The expression of p21, cyclin D1, and cyclin E was positively associated with the papillary or tubular type of the WHO classification, as well as with the intestinal type according to the Lauren classification. Aims. We aim to adjust for potential non-participation bias in the prevalence of heavy alcohol consumption. Methods. Population survey data from Finnish health examination surveys conducted in 1987–2007 were linked to the administrative registers for mortality and morbidity follow-up until end of 2014.
