1984
Laparotomy was performed on 579 children at the University Clinic of Paediatric Surgery in Mainz from 1.1.1975 to 31.12.1982. The children were up to 15 years of age; appendicitis or inguinal and umbilical hernia cases were not included. Postoperative sepsis occurred in 74 patients (12.8% of all children with laparotomy); in 51 cases positive bacteriological findings were seen besides the clinical and clinicochemical ones. Sepsis morbidity was particularly high in children who had not yet completed their first year of life (postoperative sepsis occurring in approximately every fourth infant); among the disease patterns, the following were particularly prominent: Defects of the abdominal wal…
Hochfrequenz-Rotationsatherektomie bei koronarer Herzkrankheit
2008
Percutaneous high frequency coronary rotational ablation (PTCR) was used in 10 patients with significant coronary artery disease. PTCR removes arteriosclerotic material from the vessel wall. A diamond-coated (60-80 micron) brass burr-drill, fastened to a flexible drive shaft rotating and tracking along a central coaxial guide wire, was used. The turbine rotates the drive shaft in excess of 150,000-190,000 revolutions per minute. PTCR was successful in all patients, but in three additional percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) was then successfully performed. Coronary dissection occurred only once, requiring surgery which was successful. No vessel perforation was observed.
Bone Regeneration and Soft Tissue Enhancement Around Zygomatic Implants: Retrospective Case Series
2020
Purpose: To present a case series of zygomatic implants combined with bone regeneration and soft tissue enhancement techniques to reduce the risk of biological delayed complications such as maxillary sinusitis and soft tissue recession. Materials and methods: Zygomatic implants placed simultaneously with different bone regeneration techniques (buccal, palatal and buccal-palatal bone regeneration) and soft tissue enhancement techniques (pediculate and free connective tissue graft) were followed for at least 12 months. The following information was collected: patient age and sex, number of zygomatic implants, zygomatic implant success rate, zygomatic implant position according to classificati…
Stilistiskie izteiksmes līdzekļi Coca-Cola reklāmas plakātos
2017
Bakalaura darbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām. Pirmajā nodaļā tiek piedāvāta teorija par diskursu, reklāmu, reklāmas valodu, k…
A New Technique for Coronaplasty in Penile Reconstruction.
2018
Abstract Background The coronaplasty is an important step of the phalloplasty procedure as it creates a prominent coronal ridge and a constricted coronal sulcus, resulting in the transformation of a regular skin flap into a flap resembling a circumcised penis. Aim The aim of this article is to describe our new coronaplasty technique that exploits opposing contracting forces of 2 different skin grafts to hold the shape of a thick, distally based skin flap, resulting in a natural looking neo-phallus. Methods A distally based flap is raised at the junction of the middle and distal thirds of the neo-phallus. The dissection continues until adequate mobilization is obtained, so the flap can stand…
Pre-expanded Anterolateral Thigh Perforator Flap for Phalloplasty.
2016
The anterolateral thigh (ALT) perforator flap for phalloplasty is gaining popularity because it avoids the well-known scars of the radial forearm flap. However, scars are not eliminated, just moved to a different location, the thigh, that can for some patients be of great sexual value. Preexpansion of the ALT flap allows primary donor site closure, thus avoiding not only the unsightly appearance of a skin grafted ALT donor site, but also the skin graft donor site scar. Preoperative perforator location by means of computed tomography angiography allows safe expander placement through 2 small remote incisions.
Videofluorography and MDCT findings in a case of pharyngeal perforation after anterior cervical spinal surgery with fusion (ACSF)
2010
Purpose Anterior cervical spinal surgery with fusion (ACSF) is the most widely used technique in the management of cervical spondylosis or disc herniation. A case of pharyngeal perforation after ACSF demonstrated by videofluorography and MDCT is described. Methods A 39-year-old man, recently undergone to ACSF for interbody C3-C5 fusion with anterior cervical plate and screws, was submitted to a pharingoesophageal videofluorography and 64 row-MDCT of the neck before and after oral administration of iodine contrast medium for persistent high dysphagia. Results In the plain radiograph a fractured screw was detected, anterolaterally displaced on the right to the cervical spine, outside the phar…
