Quantum computing challenges in the software industry. A fuzzy AHP-based approach

2022

Context The current technology revolution has posed unexpected challenges for the software industry. In recent years, the field of quantum computing (QC) technologies has continued to grow in influence and maturity, and it is now poised to revolutionise software engineering. However, the evaluation and prioritisation of QC challenges in the software industry remain unexplored, relatively under-identified and fragmented. Objective The purpose of this study is to identify, examine and prioritise the most critical challenges in the software industry by implementing a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (F-AHP). Method First, to identify the key challenges, we conducted a systematic literature rev…

Biometric Fish Classification of Nordic Species Using Convolutional Neural Network with Squeeze-and-Excitation

2018

Master's thesis Information- and communication technology IKT590 - University of Agder 2018 Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) is a technique within convolutional neural networks (CNN) that can be applied to existing CNNs by applying fullyconnected layers between convolutional layers and merging the outputs. SE was the winning architecture of the ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC) in 2017. In this thesis, we propose a CNN using the SE architecture for classifying images of sh. Previous work in the eld relies on applying lters to the images to separate the sh from the background or sharpen the images by removing background noise. The images from the dataset are extracted fro…

Balanced difficulty task finder: an adaptive recommendation method for learning tasks based on the concept of state of flow

2020

An adaptive task difficulty assignment method which we reckon as balanced difficulty task finder (BDTF) is proposed in this paper. The aim is to recommend tasks to a learner using a trade-off between skills of the learner and difficulty of the tasks such that the learner experiences a state of flow during the learning. Flow is a mental state that psychologists refer to when someone is completely immersed in an activity. Flow state is a multidisciplinary field of research and has been studied not only in psychology, but also neuroscience, education, sport, and games. The idea behind this paper is to try to achieve a flow state in a similar way as Elo’s chess skill rating (Glickman in Am Ches…

Muzejpedagoģija vizuālās mākslas programmas īstenošanā 1.-6.klasē

2018

An Ensemble Learning Method for Emotion Charting Using Multimodal Physiological Signals

2022

Emotion charting using multimodal signals has gained great demand for stroke-affected patients, for psychiatrists while examining patients, and for neuromarketing applications. Multimodal signals for emotion charting include electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, and galvanic skin response (GSR) signals. EEG, ECG, and GSR are also known as physiological signals, which can be used for identification of human emotions. Due to the unbiased nature of physiological signals, this field has become a great motivation in recent research as physiological signals are generated autonomously from human central nervous system. Researchers have developed multiple methods for …
